fully agreed - but as an option - because there are people who want the opposite !
Nope, as bigboy4884 stated, some, like myself, would prefer fewer animals. I don't think I've ever spent more than 5 minutes in-game before hearing a call or seeing an animal.
I wouldn't mind some type of difficulty setting, to be honest.
Easy = Lots of animals but fewer big trophy animals.
Normal = What we have now. A mixture of a decent amount of animals and also a few trophies here and there.
Hard = Very few animals and a slim chance to see a big trophy animal.
Maybe impliment a slider in the options menu to increase/decrease the animal spawn rate? Either way, I think they have it spot on atm.
The only tweak I would say needs to be done to spawning is it seems like some spawns cease working after a while to the tune of no animals at all. Hard to really get a read on if this is happening though. I can say that some areas where animals seem like they should be (in and around Balmont, by example) cease spawning any animals at all - this has been the case for 7+ in-game days. I don't mind if it is in fact a variable phenomena... but it does not seem like it is?
On the other hand - like others have said above me - maybe that's a good option to put in-game? Being able to adjust spawn rates? Also makes it such that multiplayer servers can do thier own thing with spawns too.
Im really fancy for what PicSoul suggested. A difficulty setting easy, medium and hard. This settings adjusts spawnrating, tropy rating and perhaps "spook" range etc.
Sometimes im in those "trigger happy" mood where i just want to hunt and harvest all day. Choosing difficulty would satisfy me when im in these mood.
i have also experienced what buckskinmare is saying. Sometimes there is literally desert on some areas. To me it feels like the hunting pressure zones are bugging out, when the zone is gone on the map the game dont recognize it's gone. But i cant confirm this.
Weather, that's another problem. I've noticed weather will be fairly consistant until you move. I've seen it go from perfect, to storm, and then back to perfect all in one hundred yards.
I really like the idea of stands and blinds, but the games seems to be favored towards stalking. Just keep moving, you'll find something to kill. However, the codex mentions the difficult animals won't make calls, so who knows, maybe the stands are for the really hard animals.
Yes, I think they the animal population is spot on, too but would like to see the feature as listed - he does say normal = what we have now - which I agree is spot on for "gaming," but the hard/easy would cater to different needs very easily... +1
I'm not really having a problem finding animals now. Sure, I have spells where I wander around and don't see or hear a thing. I've also wound up in the shooting gallery areas too. It is what it is and like dad always said.."if were easy, it'd be called shooting and catching instead of hunting and fishing".
Options in games are king though so the slider or difficulty suggestion isnt bad.
Clocked nearly 200 hours and STILL have not seen 1 Albino and only 2 Piebolds which seem to be unspecial in the payout. I have only 1 diamond kill. For me........that's not balanced well in reference to time spent. I get silvers and gold all the time. The werecoyote and Mr. Black are the only 2 legendaries ive seen in all this time and I record everything due to my channel.
As someone else said.......if you stop moving........you can wait until christmas (in or out of a blind/stand). I wish for special code to fire when you enter a stand/blind. Ive waited 6 hours of real time, filmed the entire thing.......not a single animal went by and I was surrounded by need zones. THAT.........is bull**** and needs some attention imo.
I've been feeling the COTW community needs a bit ofchoice with difficulty settings.
Also because this game is open to console players it will attract more casual players who may have never hunted.
I found classic through a google search before it came on Steam.
But on console's it will be advertised to the more casual crowd.
I mean i did several restarts with this game and also with low skills you can level really fast and take out all animals. Nevertheless it is as it is and with level 60 there is simply no really challenge except going for trophies and theese are random.. The Hunting club will also not change that because from level 60 you neither need money nor XP..
I would like to see really hard challenges that are allways on where you can earn special items, guns or get trophies like in the main missions (but please not so easy)
