What are your thoughts on Revontuli Coast?
I did not have high hopes given the last map releases, and had considered not buying any more DLC for this game, especially after Mississippi which I found terrible, not only as a map for the game with its buggy alligators, but also for its insulting portrayal of Mississippi. All the beautiful reserves in this game and then there's Mississippi, covered in trash and trailer parks. The devs had an obvious bias in its crafting.
That being said, I gotta say this is the first map they've released in a long time that I've been really impressed with; I am enjoying it as much as Layton Lake when I first got the game years ago. The scenery is beautiful and I find myself stopping to just take it in; walking the terrain and choosing paths for the beauty of it rather than running the shortest distance from point to point. The animal population seems well balanced as well, so I don't feel like I'm hunting a ghost reserve haha, but at the same time it doesn't feel overpopulated. Also, I have read of bugs but have yet to encounter any for my part (fingers crossed), so it's been a pretty smooth release for me.
The warden is quirky and funny as well. I thought he was annoying at first, but he grew on me and is actually kind of charming.
If I had a complaint it is that there are not enough missions. All I have left to complete are the photo missions and to get a gold of all species, and since no side characters or missions have been introduced I am guessing there are none, which is disappointing. Also, I miss finding collectibles on the map and I wish they would bring stuff like that back to encourage exploration.
All in all, this map is my new favorite. It may actually be my favorite overall but I won't decide until the newness wears off.
Anybody else feel the same? Different? Happy hunting!

I like the new map and the waterfowl rework. Love the lay of the land and the long shots. I think the land birds need a little work though. My experience IRL is that upland birds generally are quite a bit dumber and easier to hunt. Still fun though.

Still too many bugs overall in the game but this map and rework is a big improvement to the game play.

It is a very good map with lots of bugs....

I like this map too but there are too few missions. That of the shots in the stone circles is bugged because some targets do not rotate (that of the shot at 350 meters). I will finish the missions of the other maps while waiting for a fix.

I love the map, but they need to fix bugs

the least we can say is that they take care of it.

Haven't spent enough time in revontuli to pass judgement, but it does seem to have extraordinary landscape interaction/immersion. I'm not a mission person, but I've always thought that there should be more opportunities for 'treasure' and that finding it should reward the hunter in some way.

I like that idea.

It's a good map. My favorite is still Medved Taiga.

Probably my favorite map because I'm a bird hunter at heart. If only the audio wasn't so janky. The direction the sound comes from doesn't seem to have any relationship with the actual position of the bird when they take flight.

I am really liking this map myself. Irritated at the blue trail mission being broken, but at least I can still hunt. Also, it seems like the wildlife can hear me from way farther away than they are supposed to. Scent eliminator doesn't seem to be working as well...or it's my imagination. lol I love the variety of birds to hunt too. It's a nice change.

the blue trail mission worked well for me. On the other hand I am blocked with the shootings of the circles of stone.

Hmmm. I have had no problems with the missions. Working on the gold of every species and photos still though, so I could encounter mission bugs yet I suppose. I will say the birds do seem hyper-aware, and their sound is off; they are loud like they're beside me when they're like 60 yards away.
