What is the best map to buy in your opinion?
Hi everyone, I want to buy a new map, but I'm undecided which one to get, as they all look great. Which one do you think is the best?

Not even because it is new, but because there is so much to do. It is good for lower ranked hunters as well as most of the animals are class 1-4 so there grinding to unlock a class 9 capable weapon isn't necessary.

Revontuli.

You like hunting birds? The new map has more smaller animals such as birds. I personally hated small animals in this game such as the rabbits and ducks, they so hard to see.

yeah because the hunter in this game is a dwarf !

The basic maps are the best by far imo. I like Medved and Yukon as well, I do not like the African map and the others are just more of the same, perhaps even a bit superfluous, unless you want to hunt a specific species. If you're a new player with lack of cash I would recommend to stick to the base game and try out DLC-maps in multi-player.

My favorites are Medved & Savannah. They are just so different from the others and the animals there are great. Love hunting reindeer and lions!

That's good advice. Also waiting for a sale (not sure if there's currently one going on, but they happen a couple of times a year).

Personally, I'd pick one of the following three:

Yukon Valley: Comes with the .300 Magnum which is a great gun for bigger animals; has changing weather (snow coverage instead of the rain from the base maps).
Animals noticably different from the base maps (ignoring birds): Caribou, Grizzlies and Wolves. Wolves can attack (also Plains Bison, but if you know the European Bison, you know the Plains Bison, and Grizzlies can attack as well, I think, but you'd probably have to sneak up right in their face)

Vurhonga Savannah: Nice, notably different atmosphere; Very little rain.
Animals noticably different from the base maps: Lions (can attack), Lesser Kudu, Gemsbok, Springbok, Warthog (can attack), Wildebeest, Buffalo (can attack, will go out of their way to attack). Best offering regarding new species.
No birds.

Cuadro Colinas: Sunny atmosphere, quite open landscapes most of the time.
Animals noticably different from the base maps: 5 kinds of sheep and goat. Sounds a bit lame, but somehow I'm still enjoying the map a lot.
The goats could climb up cliff sides, but I've heard that has been limited in newer versions of the game which would be a bummer, Wolves (can attack). No birds.

If you enjoy those, all three come with main and side missions that have been dialled back for some of the newer reserves.

Personally, I don't like Medved too much. It's beautiful, but feels a bit bleak for me after a while.

Te Awaroa National Park - lots of variety, nice big open areas you can see far, and dense forest where you'll be hidden easily. No class 9 animals so you don't have to worry about packing heavy.

Many will agree that the Yukon Valley is one of the best reserves. I also hold this opinion.
Plus I really like Medved Taiga. But it may seem boring to someone.

Depends on your preferences and abilities. If you're a noob Silver Ridge is probably easiest because it's packed full of animals. If you like wide open spaces and long shots then Vurhonga. (watch out for the lions!) If you're a bird hunter Revontuli is wonderful. And if you like a challenge Hirschfelden has always been the toughest.
