Bloodhound gets stuck OFTEN
This seems to have been asked before, but I find no clear answer.
My dog gets stuck often, so I cannot call him to come and track a wounded animal.
I see him stuck on a slope or a rock, and whatever I do and wherever I go - he cannot escape and follow me.

Only solution I've found until now is FAS TRAVEL to a cabin and then return to the place where I was hunting before.

Is this really the only solution to get the dog unstuck - or is there a panic button to respawn him?

This game has more bugs than Shino from Naruto. That's the only answer I have for you. I wish they would focus on polish, but they don't. And that's why I haven't played in over a year.
Yeah the dogs have been pretty screwed up since the 'fixes' made to them in the last update.

Sometimes if you call the dog to heel it'll eventually make its way over to you.

If you have tents in your inventory then you can temporarily place one and use it to put the dog in the kennel, then take it out back out of the kennel and it'll spawn right next to you.

Just keep hunting. The dog will come to you. I get this when in swamp areas to Dog seems stuck, but a few minuets later he's next to me. Tell him to heel
If he's stuck elsewhere just bump into him to change his route

don't invest any more money or playtime in this game.. for avalanche studio this game is clearly a "cash cow" by dropping new DLCs left and right, while not fixing old & new bugs or even other glitches in old DLCs/maps..

- maps are buggy
- DLCs (like bloodhound) are buggy
- guns are buggy
- mission are buggy

all you can do is do their new survey and tell them to focus on bug fixing. However i highly doubt that they will focus on that part
I used to think I needed the dogs but I found they just ruin my chill. Blood trails are super easy to follow anyway. I use the dog for bird retrieval though.
Sad as it is, I often wait for the dog to simply teleport to me. I just think of him as a Hogwarts' hound.

Not sure how the dogs heat you up, but have u tried sitting on a cold pack while u play?
Imo the dogs are a gimmick and only add to the bugs in this game. I remember one patch not to long ago was just about all dog bug fixes it was so dumb and here i sit with maps that cant be completed in missions. Dont fix nothing but add other things to make more bugs and then have the gall to add more dlc. Imo the new stuff is an excuse to not fix stuff in a timely manner.

To me the dogs have reignited my interest in the game.

Haven't played for ages and with the bloodhound I didn't feel as lonely anymore and started to understand how to differentiate between the blood trails worth following and those that will end with a surviving animal.

It's just more immersive fun for me to have that friendly guy leading me.

I'm enjoying the game immensely, so I've invested a lot of both time and money in the last weeks.
The bugs haven't been bugging me too much and when they do I'll have had a few hundred hours of joy and excitement.

That's a great idea.
Usually I don't take tents with me, but I might start doing that as a quick solution.

I was hoping for the dog to teleport at some point, but it never did.
Perhaps it depends on the distance I have to go away.
Tnaks, I'll try that next time.

Have any of you actually watched/let your dogs work?

I'm training my Pointer and it amazes me how realistically the behaviour is. I've trained dogs IRL and I know what to watch for. The Dev that programme this is knowledgeable.

I think most of you are probably not hunting with your dogs the way you would IRL.

With the Pointer, don't make it chase after you, let it work ahead of you and just keep within 70 yards of it. Otherwise you're just spooking the birds before your dog gets to point.

If u watch it u will see it change body posture when it gets close to a bird, just before it finally goes into a point posture.

Using your scope to try to spot a bird ahead of the dog's position can allow u to focus the dog on that bird.

And expecting your dog to find birds where there aren't any around is just foolish. Make sure there's sign before you command it to start searching.

It's irrelevant given how glitchy they are. Dogs IRL don't spend 5 seconds shaking off, every time they touch the slightest hint of water...

And that just doesn't affect the actual hunting at all.
