Kills pays only 1 dollar
I just start to play this game on Epic (They have no forum), but i am getting issue as my kills hardly even pays me any money at all...
The very first dear I shot give me 14 dollars, the one I shot on my way to the look out gives me 2 dollars. And I scores a very lucky shot on a Lv 7 coyote at point blank range with pistol, I shot him from bottom of a small cliff, the bullet hits right in the heart through his left lung, and this still only gives me 1 dollar...

Anyone knows what have I done wrong? Now I can't even afford cabin stay or ammo...

Ok... Seems to be some kind of bug... Restarted with a new game, problem solved...
Yeah I'd restart now rather than waste any more progress. You should definitely be earning more than that. Unless it involves differences between currency, such as Yen versus dollar.

That could be the case of you shooting at some previously wounded animals. Have you been playing in multiplayer and some dude joined the server and shoot every animals with the .22L without killing them? It would say on the harvest screen if someone else had shot the animal before you. The final experience and cash reward are base on the percentage of health bar lost cause by your shot(s). Note that passing the harvest check and fast kill time also affects the cash reward.

Nope, single player only and totally new to this game, game was collected in the old Epic giveaway, just trying it for the first time...
And now I am having issue of Animals not spawning properly... Kinda like they all gather at certain area only, and hardly any tracks outside of that few spot...
Also have a funny one that I'm not even sure if this is a bug... North of Hope's camp, I was following a group of tracks of jack rabbit, but end up finding a group of whitetail deer... And there were no deer tracks to be seen around there at all... This game is confusing... :UnamusedOwlcat:

That actually sounds quiet normal. Animals do pop up out of no where during certain time of the game around or at their need zones. Animals DO NOT randomly wander around the map, and they will repeatedly going to the same route every day unless something spook them or change their need zone location. The tracks only last 4 hours after the animals travel to that specific location.
There are many animals but they take very similar paths and similar need zone locations during different time of the day (sometimes you will find rabbits resting right next to coyotes).
By the way, whitetail deer drink from 8-12, and moose drink from 12-16. They can be find on the west side of Layton Lake, and the bottom half of the central area in Layton Lake.

Is it possible u downloaded mods with the game? They can cause all sorts of issues.

It also sounds like u might be doing more running or driving than actual hunting which would cause animals to become chaotically scattered around the map in nervous disarray.

To come upon animals without any tracks surrounding them suggests they spawned right into a zone at the very time they were meant to be using it. Which means they didn't have to travel to get to their zone and immediately began engaging.

Your confusion is a result of your expectation when being inexperienced your expectations are presumptuous.

Try slowing down, enjoy the landscape, use your binoculars and scope, and you will observe the animals in their natural, undisturbed environment.

One of the most common rookie mistakes is hurrying through an area and than trying to setup to hunt according to what they find in an area they just altered by their overbearing presence. Fact is that most of what they're seeing they chased there and those animals will not be there for long, as they will return to where they came from before you imposed onto their territory.

So driving or running into an area, spotting a trophy animal, and than setting up a stand in that spot, is simply futile.

Thanks, I am really new to this game, so I have not noticed the pattern of drinking/feeding time yet, and I was also wondering why I can't find much animals by following some online map...
BTW, Is it worth setting up the trophy cabin at my stage (single player at very early in the game)?

No mods, But i found the issue were fixed by starting a new game...
I don;t have any DLCs so I don;t have cars, but I do running around quite a bit trying to pop camp site for fast travel... So that be the reason why animals were scatted in a kinda strange pattern...

Animals are dispersed differently in every game so noone has the same. Those maps are very generalized offerings based on someone's map. There are certain habitats where certain species will not be found, and vice versa.

Like I said, u wud get alot more enjoyment out of the game if you were actually hunting instead of romping.

It's okay to travel abroad to open up some outposts, but just understand that when you're doing that you aren't really going to observe the same things as when you're actually hunting.
On the other hand there is a chance you might make available a cabin that has feed zones and great shooting views around it. I like to just play for 30 minutes fast travelling between a few favorite cabins and taking a few long shots/kills but never over pressuring a great spot. Almost arcade style.Like it has been said no 2 peoples maps seeds are the same for spawns. Some people might like wide open field of views and others plenty of woods and cover, certain animal types possible etc.. Play it as you like. I used to play it as a hunting sim and it is darn good as one especially if you like to complete story lines and missions.
Are you sure you are using the right rifle for the game you are hunting? Using a wrong calibre will also cause this to happen, ask me I know LOL!

Cool, thanks for the tips, I was trying to follow the story missions, but in a game like this, I usually try to pop as many fast travel spot as early as i can... bad habit from Ubisoft Games...

Think I shall slow down a bit... Was rushing for fast travel point a bit too much...

Yap... Unlike Steam, Steam is more of a game platform mixed with social media. But Epic is basically the front of Unreal Engine, which also serve as a game distribution platform, and they only adding game rating system last year or so...
