What's with the NOT-Deer wallpaper/loading screens?

I have been playing this game forever and I never even noticed it before...
and this is not just in one, its on multiple with multiple animals and loading screens pictures. Deer, Elk, etc.
What is with the Not Deer drawings? Was this intentional?

Its actually kind of creepy now that I see it.

They have drawn Cryptid, Not Deer, with the eyes facing Front like a predator on the loading screens that you see... like when you switch maps.

Once you see it, you cannot unsee it, and its kind of creepy.

You've clearly never seen an actual deer before.
That's just what they look like, look up some images and you will see. And they look exactly the same in game as well, the loading screens are just renders of the same models.
