This mission is crazy hard. been at it for 10+ hours and finally got a pic of 2 bears....but id didnt complete. i guess i wasnt close enough. ive been hitting up need zones with no luck. only 1 bear ever comes. ive waited and waited...walked and walked...even crawled......but no pic that will complete this mission.

That mission was nerfed, you don't actually need two bears in one picture. Two pictures of two bears will do. But you do have to get close, about 50 meters.

The furthest away from the bear I've had a photo accepted at was 65 meters, Freaked me out because normally I have to be within 45-50 meters. You do not have to have two bears in the same photo. In fact, you don't even need to take a picture of 2 different bears. I've started the game over numerous times and for the 2nd photo, as long as the bear moves a little (even if it just turns its head, or you move L or R a little to change the angle of the photo, then both photos of the same bear will complete the mission.

For the best result, It is important to remember that the body of the bear should fill at least 50% of one of the square frames you see when looking through the camera. Not 15% in one square and 35% in another. Obstructions (tees, tree limbs, fallen logs, tall grass, leaves etc..) between you and the bear in the photo may cause the photo be be rejected. You want the bear to be as exposed as possible in your photo. Photos of animals standing broadside stand a better chance of being accepted than those with the animal standing upright on it's back legs or running away from you.

Hope this helps.

One one occasion I was taking a photo of a fallow deer within 50 meters (that's a mission in HIrschfeld) when a doe fallow approached my blind from behind and wound up just on the other side of some brush no more than 20 meters away before I saw her. I quickly snapped a photo and the mission did not complete (probably due to the brush between us). Undaunted I put the spot on the doe to illuminate it and then snapped the picture while she was lit up by the spot. That photo was accepted (and neither one of us had changed position one iota). Sometimes, the camera AI confuses the heck out of me but when all else fails lighting the animal up with the spot might be worth a try.

When sneaking up on a bear sitting on it's butt resting I'll drop the map marker on it before I start the sneak. This gives me a point of reference to use for distance without exposing myself to the animal while I'm low crawling towards it.

The photo missions can sometimes be hard due to the trigger logic involved. And the target requirements of course. Love them photo missions for just that. Good luck and let us know when you've done it!

Side note: Just to be on the safe side 😁

It seems you need to get quite close for photo missions. Idk why you cant zoom in at least a bit more. I made so nice photos that didnt count and then in the end sometimes got a crappy shot while running. I dont get why these missions need to be so much harder than the actual hunting missions.

Hirschfelden also has early photo missions that su*k. Even tho i git lucky with the Lake Photo mission finding a neat spot and got that quite fast. Some post on reddit or steam say they needed days for that XD.

I had my share of trouble with the "hunt a fox with a bow" mission that is even harder than the photo missions.

If you spook an animal somtimes its worth just running for it with camera in hand to get a pic.

I ended up getting a family of three bears after doing it for a long while too, was able to get very close and get the picture.
