What animals attack you directly most often?
I think everyone knows the occasional Kamikaze Deer that runs you over and hits you hard out of nowhere. But I wonder what experience you guys have in terms of animals actively trying to get at you?

So far I myself had Wisent and Boar on Hirschfelden trying to get at my Tripod.
Havent met anything like that on other maps though.
Wolf on Yukon is for some reason very bugged in my map - they get slaughtered from close up - because they are immobile - no threat there!

When the jackrabbits were 1st added to Layton Lakes, they used to trample you to death if you were prone and they ran you over.
Plains Bison used to be more aggressive, especially when the herd felt threatened or if you shot one of them ( you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us!); now they just run away. It was so much fun getting into a fire fight with the herd and barely living to tell the tale.

My most memorable hunt was in YV (on my PS4 box) I was following a herd of bison as they traveled to a need zone. I tracked them to the point where they stopped, about 200m away, and I was setting up a shot (300 Canning Magnum) on a nice bull, when I heard that telltale snort of warning directly behind me. I turned around, from a crouch position no less, and there was a big ornery bull about 10m away, getting ready to charge. Well, I had no choice but to stand my ground - I detached the riflescope ( it was the Argus 8-16x) and dropped him in his tracks with a heart shot. If this was a real-life hunt, I'd would've done the same thing, but without any illusions of it ending well for me. I wish I had saved the movie clip of the sequence. It was epic!!

I'm playing a brand new game on my PC/Steam installation (after 1000s of hours of experience on PS4); currently on SRP, so I just track the herds and take them down with the 7mm Regent Magnum or the crossbow (600gr bolts).

Too bad the level of aggressiveness is not a user preference setting, from playful to bat-crap-crazy-I-kill-you-for-looking-at-me!

Lions and wolves. I cant even enter into the Yukon map and last 15 minutes without being attacked by packs of wolves. Maybe they dont like the smell of my aftershave.

Be wery qwiet. Im hunting wabbits.
I was walking down the beach hunting Cape Buffalo on Vurhonga a couple of days ago when I heard heavy footsteps running for me. I knew it was dangerous but also knew I had my .470 with me so I pulled it out. This massive brown cape buffalo comes barreling out of the trees right in front of me. I dodged him and waited for him to turn to make another charge. He was only six and a half meters from me when I shot him the first time and eight meters when I fired the second barrel right into his lungs. He crumpled to the ground and I walked forward to check what I had. I have been charged by everything from level 2 females all the way to level 8 males so I wasn't expecting too much. When I got to him I thought his boss (horns) looked pretty big. I harvested him and discovered he was my first diamond cape buffalo. I was shocked because I had previously thought the higher level animals had a strong sense of self preservation. This one was apparently ready to move into my lodge as a trophy.
Funny enough, my first death from this game was from a Whitetails stampede.

Trying to shoot one buck that runs from me, but turned out there were a herd of them running from behind me.
I was mauled by Bear, Trampled on by Deer, Moose, and a Bison. If Rabbits could kill me it's a decent bet that I would have had it happen to me.
Cape Buff would chase me into the lodge and chase me on a quad , Alligators when not paying att hissing and growling and attacking nothing worse than getting killed by a gator In this game never happened yet come close still scared to go into the water or thick brush just have a silent one sneak in or lay hidden on this map and I'm stuck In his jaws pulling me into the water and do a death roll. would never buy a house In Florida lol. You see the alligator or crock In Georgia a hunter spotted Inland while deer hunting geess just walking along looking for a meal and It was huge you tube videos. EW needs to make crocks more aggressive and have them try to get you pull you under .lol

These lyrics may have top 40 potential on the county music charts.

Wolves, seem to die after I do, probably out of spite.
With the time I spend on this game... I can't count how many times I shot a moose only to get rammed by one on the side I didn't see. I swear to god, just like in real life appearantly, these things are spawn of satan.
Lets see who can claim the first "Was-killed-by turkey" or "was killed by rabbit" on the New England Map :steamhappy:

Saltwater Krokodile has made the Top of my personal List after I had the opportunity to observe it eating a good friend while on multiplayer :lunar2019laughingpig:
I never get aggressive animals like explained in the post I sometimes get plunged to death by a herd of deer or any animal just fleeing. The times I have been killed by an aggressive animal are far lower than fleeing ones just randomly being in their way. Which happens even less now that I have 200+ hours. I wish they were more aggressive.
