They do not spook the animals from what I have seen. However I have read do not put them to close to spawn zones because it will keep them from spawning. When you fast travel to them I read that it spooks animals but I have them very close to duck set ups and it does not seem to bother them. I go crouch right away . But many Of times Ive had animals walking around very close to tents unbothered.

There are different opinions around.

The "most common" is: If you fast-travel to the tent, it will create noise. Animals within 150m, maybe less, will hear it and react. So, no, the Tent will not scare em away, fast-travel to the tent may do so.

I cant confirm that. I fast-traveled to tents and yes, the animals reacted, but they always were right beside my tent, so I expected that. Some of them did not even care, sometimes they fled. Might be random. However, just put a tent on a spot will not really scare them away just because its there, at least to my experience so far.

i believe they scare when you place a tent and you fast travel to tent. the range is around 200-250meter

I've found new animal tracks right next to my tent so they must not be to scared to walk by it

Placing a tent used to spook animals in the 150-200m range; I definitely have seen that happen. Maybe that has changed recently? It should be easy to test. Spot an animal, place a waypoint marker on it, move until you are 150m from your waypoint and place a tent. Easiest if you can still spot the animal to see immediately.

Fast travel is harder to test, but I will say I rarely find animals near one that I just traveled to, so I suspect the few times I have seen one it was outside the sound range and already walking across my path when I arrived.

Curious, why didn't you just test them for yourself before posting this question to the community?

If you arent allowed to ask questions then for what is this community hub? I hate these people. I hope you never ask someone in your life again.

On Tents:
An unoccupied tent does not spook animals. Tents are not hunting structures. We are just as visible to the animals when we are inside a tent as we would be standing in the middle of an open short grass field. We can not shoot out of tent windows and shooting out the open door of a tent may result in our shot being blocked by the invisible conflict barrier unless we are right up to the middle of the entrance. Fast traveling to or from any location generates enough noise to spook many animals within 150 meters.
