Stick to the coast on the east side of the map. You will have no problem finding them.

Look at the map. Swamplands in the NE and coast to the E

don't worry they will find you :steamhappy:
The crocs are nocturnal mostly :lolo:

Go to the delta of two rivers South in Tamba coast. Plenty there. Like a park and ride for crocs. I'm there now. Will go down to big delta at East after.

Hit the east coast where the river hits the ocean. Probably killed about 30 last night in an hour or so.

30 in a hour? Do you hunt with a MG42?

Hour or so, probably around 90 minutes and they're literally always in groups of 3. Shoot one, two run, clip those on the bounce.

No MG42 needed.

YES MG42 NEEDED GOODBYE DEER!

ICYMI: you can always figure out where animal need zones are located on your own map (each game instance is unique, so your zones will be randomly distributed within each species' habitat areas. Habitat areas are determined by the map geography (terrain, water, grassland, forests, swamps, etc) and are the same for every game).

So, how do you know what a species' preferred habitats are, you ask.
Codex/Wildlife/animal: this will give you useful information about each animal in the game, such as habitat, behavior, time periods when they are most active (dawn, dusk, night, midday mid-morning, mid-afternoon) and so on.

Once you know that, you can start to explore the map to locate different habitats - the map doesn't use standard USGS symbols (or anyone else's symbols for that matter) other than elevation contours (no elevation #'s or major/minor lines), but you can see the differences between plains, hills, mountains, deserts, grasslands, forested areas, and of course water bodies (but they don't distinguish fresh and salt water, or lakes from marshy areas that you can wade through; swampy areas have water surrounded by dark areas, usually).

So, saltwater crocs prefer salt marshes and swamps, and salt water in general -
The Codex says, under habitat: 'Coastal brackish mangrove swamps and river deltas'

Saltwater crocodiles like salt water areas? Colour me shocked.

Haha, go figure, eh? LOL

A lot of new players don't know how to associate need zones with habitats, and so we are always getting these questions of where to find a species on their maps. They may not realize that the distribution is randomized for each game instance.
Rather than tell them directly, or show them a screen shot of my map, I figure it's better to 'teach a person how to fish, rather than just give them a fish'.

Unless they decline to READ the codex like that German guy here today with twice a "how to?" question. You were the one that indicated me the codex 1 year ago. Believe me I did READ it all. And now again for each new specie and/or reserve. TY for that!

If he can read your kind replies. He can read the codex also.
Sorry I loose patience when I get a reply "good to know, but you could have given me the answer also".....

fischen lernen !!

FYVP: I did a search for images of mangrove swamps and found this

The mangrove swamps in Emerald Coast sort of look like that.
