can some one please tell me how the hell to get the photo of this bear. I have spent 3 hrs rt trying,I get to within 39 yards and he runs away.I have perks so as to not make any noise in grass or brush also removed all gear and weapons only have the clothes on my back. The wind was coming straight at me and i had on cover scent. still no go. I have tried the tripod method he won't show up at all not even tracks.And the camera system is a joke a zoom on it and still u have to get within 20 meters or yards to take the photo. Devs Fix the camera system its been broken since Day 1. Any help would be most welcome

I put a tent near were he spawns. In the end I got so frustrated I just ran after him taking photos until I some how caught up enough for one to count. I have about 80 photos of Mr. Blacks hairy a$$hole.

Tried that no go,I am at the point that i am going to forget all story mission that require a photo.That camera system is badly broken

I like the missions. Some of the photo missions are easy cash. But yeah they need to make it so that the zoom on the camera can be effectively used.

Odd, my camera is working fine on Zoom. Just finished the Family Photo mission about an hour ago. If you are too close to his spawning point Mr. Black won't spawn so that might be why he didn't appear when you used the tripod. Without a screen shot I'm unable to hazard a guess why your photos are not being accepted. Normally 40 meters does the trick.

The bear has to fill about 1/2 of the center block on the camera and things that obscure part of the bear, like belly high grass, can sometimes cause the photo to not be accepted as can the bear standing up on two legs instead of being on all 4s (since he fills less of the screen horizontally while standing upright).

It also took me a while to complete that mission, because of what you say, game errors around the photo taken being counted as valid to complete the mission. The first thing is to know where the bear is located, in the lake, right on the shore and it almost always has some moose nearby in the morning. In front of where the bear is located, there is a ledge or triangle of land that allows you to approach it, obviously by crawling. I used the house to the right of that spot on the map to spawn during the mornings (spawn) and then went to look for it in the water. I also tried several times to approach on the left side of the bear, but I liked the first option better.

Later you will have your revenge, they let you kill him ... I blew it up on the damn thing. XD

I set up a tent nerby, go to the Lake ans set up a tripod. He always spawns at the same time. I go there some time before, sit in the tripod and wait. when he comes, i took that photo, and for the mission to kill him, i did the same.
Not my idea, read it somewhere.

How I did this mission was to put a tent down by the tree line directly opposite his spawn, spawn into the tent about 30 mins before Blacks spawn time and run to the end of the spine where he spawns, close by the area right at the end are some reeds to hide in facing back towards your tent, get your camera ready and wait, if done right and you are ready with camera and he spawns in two things will happen, 1) you are detected by him and he stands up and then runs off, this gives you enough time to take a few shots with the camera, one of those might do the trick, 2) he spawns in, stands and then charges at you, (this is why you have camera ready), if he charges at you just keep clicking, the photo that did it for me was a close up of him with his mouth wide open attacking, if you fail just go back to the tent, forward time or back, try again, took me four times to do it this way after days of trying, this is the easiest way to do this mission.

CrazyDave put a tent down where I mention to hide so you could do it this way as well.

i did this mission in 2017 and its horrible i got it when i got close i took rapid pictures .than he saw me runned away and somehow one of those pictures i took than completed teh misiion

It has to be close up with no zoom.
I had to make several attempts.
It's definitely bugged.
I had to get close on a stalk... and then run at it while taking the picture.
I was willing to die in the game to ensure the photo.
But I didn't... Mr. Black just ran away.
