Thanks, I'll just copy/paste this when asked.
Plus, this should be a great cash grinding map simply due to the sheer amount of small fowl mixed with the abundance of lynx. A .22LR, shotgun, Mosin or similar as well as a bow should be the nearly perfect setup/loadout on this map to make cash fast.
Also, Brown Bears are receiving a remodel to make them actually look like proper bears, similar to the changes made to Black bears a while back.
Also feel free to include information on the waterfowl rework and new GO for those who are curious.
I am going to read up on all those new animals tonight. They look like they could be fantastic. Of all reserves, I am probably most excited about this one coming out.
I am not certain what its like now, but when the teal came out, many of them had the same skin in the lodge, I hope and assume, with all these new and interesting smaller birds, they will have very distinctive looks in the lodge.
You're welcome!
I don't know much about the waterfowl apart from the fact that Eurasian Teal are very small and easily spooked ducks which fly extremely fast, especially when startled. Raccoon Dogs, however, I know a fair bit about. They originally come from Japan and were introduced to Finland to be bred for their furs on farms. Of course, some of them inevitably escaped (and by some, I mean thousands of them, sorta like the Fox and Rabbit infestations in Australia) and started to integrate themselves into the local ecosystem. By "integrate" I mean terrorize nesting birds of all forms by consuming entire nesting colonies' worth of eggs and often times also killing the parents. In addition, they have a propensity to surplus kill upland fowl similar to how Mink surplus kill rodents in the United States. The latter prevents introduced rats and existing native rodents from overpopulating and causing food chain collapse, the former is probably going to cause a food chain collapse.
In short, Raccoon Dogs look cute until they use their cold, hollow, murderous eyes to stare deep into your soul.
They are almost completely active at night, so night hunting them under the northern lights will be amazing. I guess they are the only member of the canidae family that goes into hibernation during the winter months. They go to sleep weighing around 7 kg and wake up in spring half that size oO and at least we know the reserve's seasonal setting won't be the dead of winter months like Medved.
So much use for the shotguns with all those new species. I wonder if northern lights will eliminate the need for the tech pack, night-vision goggles during night hunts and if tritium sights might work at night :)
