I only hunt on few, but not because they are the best. I mostly cycle between these:

I like Hirshfelden for nostalgic reasons. Though it's still one the most beautiful reserves and have interesting animals, IMO. It used to be my fav reserve for money grind, till the devs changed geese behavior.

Vuhonga Savanna for it's openness and the kind of animals.

Te Awaroa is very nice for deer hunting.

Yukon Valley. Looks great and has a good variety of interesting animals.

Silver Ridge Peaks has many and great animal variety.

Worst reserves, for me, are the ones with too many goats and hogs. I don't really fancy hunting them.

Would there be a way to make hogs or goats more interesting to hunt for you?

My favorites:

Revontuli Coast - Great mix of forested and open areas with beautiful scenery. A bird hunters paradise but with enough medium and large game to keep anyone interested.

Vurhonga Savanna - It's hard not to enjoy hunting in Africa and there's a great list of species to go after here, many of which are still exclusive to this map. I've hunted this map so much that I've actually lost count of how many diamond wildebeest I've killed.

Silver Ridge Peaks - I loved this map when I first started playing and I still have a big soft spot for it. Elk and mule deer are two of my favorite animals to hunt so having both of them together here just makes it even better.

Sunderpatan - This map really was a slam dunk in my opinion. Fantastic list of species to hunt and the tigers actually trying to hunt us just makes it a lot of fun.

Yukon Valley - What can I say? This map is a classic with some of the best scenery and another fantastic list of animals to hunt.

There aren't any maps that I actively dislike though Rancho Del Arroyo and New England are the two that I've played the least since I don't find them that interesting.

What makes you disinterested in them?

For Rancho, it's just how overall drab the map is. I know it's a desert and that's how it's supposed to be but it always kind of puts me off and makes me wanna stop playing within about 30 minutes. It would help if there was a good list of animals to hunt but I don't think there is on this map. Yeah I know I said I love hunting mule deer which are on this map but I could just go to Silver Ridge Peaks or Parque Fernando instead and have a much better time hunting them there.

New England at least has much better scenery than Rancho but the list of species on this map is a major letdown. Almost every animal on this map can be hunted somewhere else and I enjoy hunting all of those animals on the other maps a lot more.

I was super disappointed in the mississippi one. I found the animals there boring if not annoying to kill ( looking at the alligators ) The scenery is dull and the story is pretty bad. I just can't find a redeeming quality about it. I mean i guess they have white tail but as you said about those maps...there are better maps for hunting white tail.

i don't know,I like them all, each one has good terrain and pretty good graphics. The animals seem to be quite realistic.

The maps can be very different from each other so the things one person likes might not be as enjoyable to someone else.

If you're trying to narrow down a shopping list you should figure out what you dislike the most and avoid maps with those features.

Just comparing what someone else likes or dislikes can result in you missing out on something you might have really enjoyed.

Love the Mississippi map, the Medved map and also Rancho. My favorites!
Mississippi because it is hard (flat and many obstructions), Medved because it has dynamic weather and is well designed in terms of topography, Rancho because it uses a unique DEM model.

That being said, I enjoy all maps and the variety they provide. Preference might go in cycles...

It's a very personal thing. Different players like different maps.
This is just my personal ranking.

favorite: Revontuli, Hirsch, Lake, Australia, New England, Spain, Nepal

mid: Taiga, Te Awora, Rancho,

bad: Yokun, SRP, Africa, Parque, Mississipi

Best is hard to say. The good ones are pretty close together for me.
Worst: Missisipi (a lot of small animals and too much tall grass and no terrain elevation) and Africa (wide view distance with no grass rendering is just a turn of for me)

Mid tier: CC, LL, Hirsch, PF, Rancho, Yukon

When you say sun hurts my eyes. I just imagine you walking around and then turning into that meme from sponge bob screaming my eyes.
