Game makes my graphics card run at 90 degrees C
i have a 3060 graphics card which is way over the recommended for a graphics card and i catch it running at 90 degrees celcius now when i play.

I never had this is the past. The hottest my pc used to get with this game was about 80 on my cpu and 82 or 83 on my gpu. So while this game was always a game that generally made my pc run hotter than most games this is the first ive caught it at 90 degrees.

Any settings recommeneded that i can change? dont see an option to lower fps which i know would help.

Any help would be appreciated. as i really enjoy this game and would hate to have to shelf it because it might brick my pc. Also my drivers are up to date if that means anything. Cheers

When was the last time you cleaned out your PC? Like, opened it up, blew out and wiped the fan blades (make sure not to let them spin freely when blowing them with a vacuum/air can), made sure the vents are clear, etc? And are all your fans still working well, has one perhaps died?

There's also an option somewhere in the settings to limit the framerate to monitor refresh rate iirc.

Which reserve were you on. I have found a couple of reserves like Sundarpatan, New England Mountains and Mississippi Acres Preserve make my gfx card run hotter than the others. Currently Sundarpatan is the worst.

i dust out my pc once a month so it should be good.

Ill have to look again for a setting to limit my framerate. Im sure if i could get it to limit to 60fps that would fix the issue for me but last i checked i didnt see options in settings for framerate caps

its probably not helping my gpu heat that i get almost 200 frames in game so thats why i was mentioning there not being a frame cap setting from what i could see because if i could cap my frames i think it would solve this issue.

You could reduce the resolution a bit or maybe the shadows. Try a few things and find a happy place for you system.

Hmm, I dont see the frame cap I remembered, but, Vsync caps the frames to the monitor refresh rate. So if your monitor refresh rate is < 200, enabling vsync should work.

This is absolutely an issue with this game... and has always been historically so.

You can cap your frame rate in Nvidia Control Panel. Go to "Manage 3D settings" then look at the "Global Settings" tab. About halfway down that list is a "Max Frame Rate" setting. Enable it and then set your max frame rate with the slider. You can also do this for individual games under the "Program Settings" tab, if you don't want to do it for every game.
