Got me a Gold Albino Mountain Lion, but i was wandering do they get together into a group as I have found about about 3 0r 4 groups of 4 & 5 together?

irl they are supposedly solitary creatures. Pre the last patch i'd find 3 or 4 together quite often. Post patch in a couple of places i've seen them in even bigger groups. I shot 8 in one spot in 20 mins the other day, and at least 1 more got away, possibly 2. I'm starting to think the Mountain Lion spawns are bugged. To have 9 or 10 in a tiny area is pretty ridiculous.

It could be that the separate animal pathways incl the same need zone at a particular time.

Yes they gather in the early morning hours at lakes.

This is something I've complained about before. The population of mtn lions on SRP is ridiculous. I've seen more than a dozen at a lake before and it seems anywhere I go on the north half or west half of the map has a ton of them.

I hate hearing that stupid constant growl in my headphones. I ran around 1 lake the other day and shot about 8 of them and there were still plenty around growling before I left. It gets super annoying hearing that growl and it has a weird static click at the end of the growl like when someone releases the talk button on a walkie talkie.

Ive even seen 4 mountain lions laying right on top of eachother. You couldn't tell where each ended and began and then there were more pairs standing on each side of them withing like 15meters. It was 8 right there in a 25 meter circle and that's not even counting the ones to my left on the other side of the lake.

At this point I don't even get excited about seeing a 9legendary one. I've killed so many of them. I don't even care to pick them up anymore and won't go out of my way to track them if I get a bad shot. There's so many its insane. Pick em up for the cash but not worth stalking one down or anything. I killed 2 albino ones in a couple hours the other morning. If that's not a sign theres too many I don't know what is.

Don´t play Silver Ridge Peaks, it´s ridiculous, although I haven´t tested it now after the recent patch, maybe it´s better now.. however, the last time I have played it I encountered exactly what you have described. Lots of mountain lions next to eachother at lakes and in general way too many animals.
I got the impression that this is not hunting anymore, but rather a shooting fest.
RedTide249 Aug 15, 2020 @ 7:44pm
I don't mind the shooting fest aspect of it. I like there being a lot of animals. Most the other animals are heard animals anyways and are found in groups. Mtn lions are not. And you rarely rarely see them in the wild...and definitely never by the dozen. There are less animals overall on silver ridge now but the ratio of mtn lions to other animals has not changed from what I can tell. Instead of maybe a dozen at a lake I'll still find 6 or 7.

Hm ok that´s indeed problematic. I assume in reality you can be glad if you get to see a single one.

Let´s hope they balance this further, I also found it quite immersion breaking how many of those are running around. They even shared their way finding paths, so there were several instances where I saw two or more mountain lions which were walking/trotting the exact same way almost next to eachother.

Aren´t they in rl territorial and don´t accept other mountainlions in their vicinity? I´m not sure but it appears quite unrealistic to me how it is currrently in the game.

We had the same problem with Puma in PF when it was released. It was a race to find an animal and kill it before a Puma ran it off. I'm sure they'll eventually either disperse them more or allow the existing Mtn Lion pop to dwindle down. I'd prefer the former but we'll have to wait and see which way the devs will decide to go.

Found a pack of 2 male and 4 female mountain lions at the lake in NW area of Silver Ridge.
Males were both gold, one of them mythical just fraction short from diamond.

Had 16...yes 16! bears within 70m of each other at Two Fawns lake. I've not played the game since. It's beyond a joke now.

Here are six of them in a group with one just off camera to the right making seven total.

It is a annoying that the MT lion share the same drink times with bighorn in the morning & elk in the evening. Last time I tried to hunt elk in a MT lion area at evening drink time, I shot 5 MT lion & 0 elk. Same story with bighorn in the morning as I shot 4 MT lion & 1 sheep.

So, I started just shooting ALL the MT lion I spot at the lakes & hoping when the new ones spawn it will disperse them a bit. That being said, I am not a fan of nerfing animal pop.

I just wait till they move away and the game "animals" come back.

Maybe I will wait it out with them & see what happens. At one lake the other day, the elk showed up 1st. I shot one & was waiting to see if the others would return, but the MT lion started moving in & the elk never came back.

I was sitting at a favorite spot on the new map when I heard a Lion mating call, then all of a sudden a monster Bull ran out with some Cows. Took that monster and then took my first diamond Mt Lion. Great hunt. Thought I had my first Diamond Elk but he was shy a bit.
