The DLC maps are also very reasonably priced, usually 20-25% off at release.
How many people are die-hard fans? Not that many compared to the people who bought it, played for few hours, and then dumped it.
Most of rest of the DLC are way overpriced though. 4bucks for a weapon pack and you end up not using any of them. Same with the cosmetics.

It's a business practice that's done by other publishers. Namely Paradox. I just wanted to make it known that's what's going on. There is one thing I wasn't aware of, the the game is sold for $3 on steam sales? Granted the DLC released in the past year isn't on as big of a discount as the older DLC, but they do discount all DLC during sales it seems. Paradox for sure does not do that. I just missed the sale is all, i'll catch up on DLC on the next sale.
It's a game that will most likely not attract a lot of people, it being rather cheap makes it easier for people to try it out. If it would cost twice as much with more content, not as many people would even try it, because they might not be sure if such a niche game will work for them. I almost did not buy it for 75 % off.
Also if they put more stuff in the full game, there will be stuff in it that 80 % of people maybe never use. I played the base game for over 80 hours or so before getting any dlc. 80 hours is a lot but for some people that might be all they want from the game.
If you are hooked to the game, you can try out more maps and some "gameplay" DLCs like dog and quad, or other weapons to hunt fowl and small game which a lot of more casual players might not even care for.
I have now over 500 hours on record and with all maps and some dlcs i payed about as much for it as for a bigger AAA game.
I got it 7 years ago (for FREE actually), with the DLC's at the time and most of them since then. Not once have I been re-billed for what I purchased as a ONE-TIME buy... ???
I am playing on 2 maps and I am fine. Learned how to kill bear with single arrow.
can't find a new list of dlc suggestions. went to youtube and i don't have the top 3 have the rest.

There is something paradox does when a game has a lot of DLC and they release a sequel to the game, they allow monthly subscriptions to the older title. something to consider as having a massive dlc list that costs a ton of money list will push away new customers. however as mentioned in this very thread. to me this game is already a cult classic as there's nothing like it.
