I shot plenty of sucks in New England and Revontuli. A few in Lake and Yukon.
I've only seen two lvl 3 ducks so far. One in New England but it would not land, and one in Revontuli on the ground and I actually got that one. Diamond Teal.
The callers helps getting them down when you are close to water, but they also land often without the caller which might take a bit more time. But its "safer" in a way because with callers they tend to land very close or even on top of your head which make them spook of course and they fly away.
You also find them resting or eating in lakes or on the shoreline which is the best chance to get them.
I suggest you get the cal .22 rifle to shoot them from 100 or 150 meters away. The shotgun works but you basically need the scope and that takes a long time to get. And you need to be as close as 75 meters, which sometimes can be hard to reach without spooking the duckies.
Run and gun and actually picking the right duck is pretty hard to do i would say.
Aside from the Cinnamon Teal i actually have all ducks as a gold trophy in my hut. Males gold. Females silver. I think fowl hunting is pretty fun. I also have all other birds except the rio grande turkey.

I appreciate your post by the way. But I just don't know how to make this work in practice. In my experience, decoys don't actually do anything useful, and where should I even put them down? The ducks are on an extremely erratic, bizarre schedule, constantly switching zones all over the place.
Idk. I dont do anything special. I think this is my 4th duck i shot on that map.
I have 2 gold, one Silver and that buddy above.
I place 5 males and 5 females and they see to land quite easily.
This one was at the bigger lake in the center of the map. With the hut very close.
I placed the decoys. Rested over night. Went down to the lake and waited a bit.
