Why do ducks keep landing ontop of my blind?
At first I thought it was because of the decoys being too close so I moved my tent further back and placed the electronic caller next to the decoys far away from me and STILL they keep ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ landing ontop of my blind.... Why?

I have read some complaints pertaining to the electronic caller sounding at the duck hunters location rather than where the caller is located. I wanted to use it for predators but after reading about this problem I'm going to keep using manual callers. No point in spending money on something that doesn't work properly.

JSYK The only times a tent bothers wildlife in this game is when we are inside it or fast traveling to/from it's location. Aside from that, wildlife couldn't care less about where a tent is placed.

Yeah, I've tried the electronic caller on a variety of animals, and, regardless of where I placed it in relation to myself, the animals have definitely been coming towards me, not the caller. Without the ability to guide animals to a different position from your own, it just ends up being an all-in-one caller.

I'm glad this came out because I was starting to think I was crazy, I actually stopped using the caller unless I want to draw an animal out of a zone of grass or something but really the other callers work just as good if not better

I wanted to say something related to ducks too. Now they don't land on water, do they? It's really strange because I put decoys on water but they never land there. More so, if I use decoys AND a caller they may try to land ON me and not where the decoys are.

Yeah IKR? Its super annoying. Use a caller they land on your head, use only decoys and they land 100m away, IDK what they did to water fowl hunting but ever since the 'update' to it its been bad.

I actually didn't have this problem with the caller. I place it and backed away and crouched then waited. They have always landed in front of the caller. When I use the caller to set a trap that has worked flawlessly for me, place it then move away to attack from the side.

I haven't tried combo it with the blind so maybe that will be an issue so I'll give that a shot next time I hunt some ducks.

EDIT: Alright so electric caller and blinds I also set up decoys. Not sure if specific to ducks but Canada Goose the thing that kept happening was they landed nearby the blind not on top of it. Maybe I need the caller to be 100 meters away, I only went as far as 50. I don't know if the direction the caller faces has an effect but that could be another factor if it does.

I dont use blinds becaue i like to run around much. Ducks mostly land right on my head.

Decoys seem to work, but not always. Its quite a fuss to set them up tho. At least if you wanna have them in different locations.

As long as i'm not missing a specific trophy i just take my chances and hope for the best.

I have most water fowl gold by now.

To quote the developers: "waterfowl always land into a headwind so you can set up your blinds to shoot them according to the wind direction!"

yeah I know that. Doesnt change the fact that they land ontop of my fking head 50 meters away from the decoys.

I've been using the electronic caller on Roosevelt Elk and it works great. The Elk don't go to me they go 100m away towards where I set up the caller.

Yeah it seems like the issue is not with the electronic caller but rather with the location the ducks choose to land, which is always right on top of the player.
