They might be in another zone nearby. Its not like they are there always exactly in the time period it says. They dont spawn in and out from 6 -10 or so.
I never really used much tents or treestands tbh.
Just start at the nearest hut and walk towards the need area. run up to lets say 200 meters. Then go slow and see if something is there.
Or keep moving around in the gereral area of the need zones. Just slow walking until you hear a warning or mating call, or until you find tracks. Follow them, see how old droppings are and stuff like that.
If you just go for tent and huntingstand, you might wait a long time.
But maybe others can say more about that because, i didnt really used it that much. I hunt relatively effective without them, most of the time :D
Still, I do sometimes get moose that are stubborn and still won't show up. In that case, I'll head back to my tent and do the 1 minute trick. This is literally just setting the time ahead by 1 minute and most of time, it will force the animals into their zone. You still might need to do it several times before they show up though.
No the in game time. When you rest at a tent or outpost, you can change the in game time to whatever you want.
