Guns And animal Rating
One thing I like about Way of The Hunter is you do not lose any rating be it diamond or 5 star if you use the wrong gun. I have lost more gold and diamonds because of this BS rule. I know the fan boys are going to jump me for this but so be it. When you have an animal running and you have the wrong in your hands you use it. That rule should be deleted, just my opinion, what do you Think?

No i think the system is fine as it is, it's already has a very lacking progression system and this would make it even easier to unlock anything.

it's a somewhat realistic system, so I like it

The games too easy as it is. If you have the wrong weapon just go get the right one. The animal will still be there. Same place same time, or if not it will be nearby. Plus it would completely remove load out strategy.

Using rocket launchers to take out rabbits might be realistic in some places but other places around the world it certainly isn't. Its just laziness on your part.

Nothing was even mentioned about rocket launchers was not even mentioned , just rifles. Apparently you did read the first post correctly or do not know how to read! I am tired of these know it all posters who who think the game was only made for them! That is all I will say to this!

Its about trophies right? So blast a duck into oblivion with a .300 magnung sounds about right for you? Fair enough :D

It might not make sense in every case, i give you that. But the game needs some mechnaics to not make it too easy, like others pointed out.

The game encourages professional hunting. So it punishes shooting bison with .22 and rabbits with .338. It's why we have different ammo types, for different purposes.

Another way of looking at it is the better and more professionally you hunt, the greater the rewards.

Shooting an animal that's charging at you isn't hunting, it's self defence.

To be honest I'm getting tired of posts which fail to understand the basic premise of the game.

Also how do you even hunt? "Shootig at a running animal" is never a good idea. Sure I fall for the temptation sometimes too, but the chances that you mess up the shot anyway is pretty high on a running animal. If you just hit the bowels the trophy is messed up anyway.

If a high rating animal bolts, you slowly pick up the trail and wait for a better chance.

Do you just run around the map shooting at anything you see without spotting it and then you complain that you used the wrong gun? How do you know its even a good animal, or the animal with the highest rating in the pack?

Also picking a gun with hotkeys and the perk / skill that makes switching faster takes like one second.

I really dont get this complaint tbh.

Yep, go ahead and put that .22 into a lion or cape buffalo.

I was thinking the same thing. I've had the odd moments where I blasted something like a fox with the .300 magnum but it's always an accident when it happens. If you've got the wrong gun out and the animal you wanna shoot is running off, just pick up it's track and follow it or reset the time and check the area for it's need zones. There's never a need to shoot it with the wrong gun.
