Your top 5 reserves and why.
I'm interested to see what reserves other favour.

1. Vurhonga Savanna

By far the best reserve in my opinion, it is a beautiful map with warm colors that makes you want to stay there and the sunrise/sunsets are lovely. There's plenty of exotic animals to hunt here.

2. Medved-Taiga National Park

Reminds me of home, if you love snow and the animals that come with it then this is the reserve for you.

3. Yukon Valley Nature Reserve

Americans will love this reserve and for good reasons, Alaska is a unique and beautiful location to hunt in.

4. Hirschfelden Hunting Reserve

As a European born near Germany this has to be near the top of my list, i find the terrain and wild life very familiar to what i'm used to.

5. Layton Lake District

If you like hunting in forests there are no better map in my opinion.

My least favorite is probably Rancho del Arroyo, not a well designed map in my opinion, it's very plain looking and not much is going on.

I have all of them. Of the 14 reserves, Rancho del Arroyo and Mississippi Acres are my least favorite. However, Rancho does have one redeeming quality - there is no incessant quacking of waterfowl and honking of geese LOL.

My top 5 would be very similar, though not in that order with Vurhonga at the very top, and I rank Layton below fifth due to its more one-note tendencies. Sure I like it, but I'd replace it with Revontuli, Parque or Emerald Coast that all have more variety in biomes and visual appeal, and density of game.

But yes I agree that those four are up there in a list of five. being the richer, most beautiful and most atmospheric maps.

In defense of Rancho, there are cool parts to it, but yes it feels uneven, and the outposts aren't too smartly dispersed.

Layton will always be my favourite. The first one I did.

The maps I hunt the most these days are: Africa, SRP, Rev and NZ. I don't rank them in any order since I rotate through all of them on any given game day.

1 - Parque Fernando - There's something magical about this map. From the atmosphere to the animals and everything inbetween those. I loved the story here. Also I find its the only map i can shotgun ducks out the sky with consistency as they fly over head.

2 - New England Mountians - Its home turf to me, nothing like the NE during fall. Not much else to say no logic involved. I would have said Layton Lakes here until NEM came out.

3 - Cuatro Colinas - Love the animals and the views. I like the Iberian wolves over the Greys. I know they doesn't fit but if Hirschfelden had any wolves that would edge it out.

4 - Mississippi Acres - Alligators, not that the other animals aren't fun but just alligators are alligators.

5 - Vurhonga Savanna - Obligatory Africa choice.

I played 9 so far. I would rather like to cluster them.

A tier: Hirsch, Lake, New England
B tier: Taiga, Emerald Coast,
C: tier: Spain (cool map that can feel empty at times)
D: Yukon, SRP (i don't like too much different elevation which makes traversing annoying)
E: Savannah (too apparent showing off the limits of the engine, grassland with no grass? for real?)

It's just my subjective feeling / opinion. Please dont feel attacked by it ;)

I have and will try all other reserves in due time. I started revontuli a few days ago.

- Medved - Feels like home, excellent layout, winter, good missions
- Mississippi - Flat, dense undergrowth, hard to hunt small game
- Rancho - Nice and challenging topography model, small game
- Fernando - Reminds me of my travels down there...
- Yukon - Majestic, dynamic weather, grizzly

I tend to like all 14 but favorites goes around in circles.. every reserve have many nice spots, even if I wouldn't vote on it as a whole. Hirshfelden is outstanding as well as Layton.
