Gaming Mouse Question
Hi

Question for those using a gaming mouse does anyone here use the Logitech G502 Hero

For the last few years I have been using a Roccat Lua mouse

https://en.roccat.org/Mice/Lua

It's comfortable enough but nothing fancy not even forward backward buttons for when web browsing.

This is the mouse in question though that I saw in Tokyo here by Logitech

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G502-Performance-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B07GBZ4Q68/

https://www.logitechg.com/en-roeu/products/gaming-mice/g502-hero-gaming-mouse.html#910-005470

I noticed it the other day at a store here in Tokyo and while it wasn't hooked up to a computer I was able to put my hands on it as here they have display models of alot of the electronics and for me I felt at least that time that it felt comfortable in my hand. I have a hard time finding a mouse that feels good and this one just felt like it melted into my hand.

From the write up on Logitech's website seems to have 11 programmable buttons and is weighted but from the amazon reviews only 70% give it 5 out of 5 and 11% rated it only 1 star out of just under 1000 reviews

Someone also said it's a heavy mouse due to the weights how tiring is it to use for a general all around mouse as one reviewer said he got tired some using such a heavy mouse???

If you use the mouse what are your thoughts on it.

Thanks!

I can't really answer in relation to your choices, but as someone who is late 50's, with a bit of spinal damage from a car accident, and a tendency to have unsteady hands occasionally, I find that heavier mice are my preference, plus in many games I find a heavier key/button press helps.

That said though, I do run a couple of mice depending on game...both heavy and light.

Yeah see that is one point that made me curious when I was reading reviews as I have never used a weighted mouse so unsure how it feels to use it as I have a few mouse but I only ever use the one Roccat I currently use so just wondered if the review was accurate or not regarding him getting tired easier using a weighted mouse

G502 is my favorite, used logitech for years for gaming micee. I prefer the wired type as well. I use the weights, they are removable so you can have it as light as a normal mouse or as heavy as the weights allow. With a bum shoulder I still use the heaviest weight combination I can. 3 buttons are in great location for right thumb. Two more are ok. I only use two buttons for call of the wild. F and E on two buttons Despite being 6-4 tall got normal sized ehands. Take a large glove if that helps.
It can take upto 5 x 3.5grm weights. It is noticible with out them for me. I find Logitech run best on a cloth gaming mat / pad. All my mice that have broken over the years are because of the right mouse button failing. I still have a really old on for laptop that has to be 10 years old. 2 broken, one lasted years. Replaced last one with g502 and I think that was three years ago.
3 onboard memory sets, so you can set one for this game if you want. The adjustable dpi is great as well for tracking animals while in sight mode.I For sure have had my money worth out of this one and would replace it,with another 502, with out looking at others.

Almost a decade ago, I had a Logitech mouse called a G500 that was weighted and of a roughly similar shape. I liked it a lot and when it comes to mice, Logitech are among some of the top dogs in the industry if you ask me. BenQ/Zowie also make great quality for the price and are usually my go-to. That said, I've used a million different mice and what I've learned is to not buy into hype or childish 'gamer' marketing. Research the sensor it uses, what type of switches it uses, and stay away from any mouse that needs a bunch of junk software just to be halfway functional. You should ask yourself whether that mouse will be comfortable for someone like you, presumably a casual gamer? Lots of side buttons and flash to it. Do you need or want that for the games you play?

Edit: Should have read your post more thoroughly. You said you palmed it in person and it was comfortable for you. No harm in giving it a go then, right? Could always sell lightly used on Ebay after if you weren't satisfied.

Thanks!

And yeah I was able to lay my hands on a shelf model the shop had reason I know it felt comfortable for my hand and hand size. That's always been the hardest part for me is finding a mouse that feels comfortable in my hand so many just feel sort of smallish or have way to many buttons. This one though seemed right perfect size and just a few added buttons without all the unnecessary buttons that some mouse have. Plus as Von mentioned it's wired which I prefer as always have found wireless has a certain amount of lag which always seems to get me killed HA HA
