Where to find Iberian Wolves?

I've been playing Cuatro Colinas since its release and i have yet to be able to run across wolves, i have traversed a good portion of the map and i only hear them howl but have never been able to locate them, i do not make noise, i am smell proof, but i am also confused lol. Any tips would be great.

also the ibrien wolf is much fewer in number than any american kind, and their quiteness reflects their real nature, i bagged my 1st two when they're pack quiety walked into me as they travel past the feet of my tripod stand, luckey i was out of reach as they went bannas when i fired into them with my 20g skecker shotgun with slugs. and yes i've have lured them a couple of times, once on a tripod which i took out with my 44 revoler "came close so quite i didnt even hear her comming" and second i hide in a bush after stalking a pack of sleepers till 104m then lured them in trying to get the gold, but they got so close i was forced to shot a poorer qualiety silver with my recureve at 15m was scary but was well juffed. the pack bolted rather than attacked, i guess the lack of gunshot stopped them detecting me, and last night i bagged a another female with the 44 as she ran right passed me when chasing a deer. she was sleeping at the quarry lake time sunset then started hunting.

so many when it comes to wolf attacks i think its todo mainly if they can suddenly see you when you yourself attack, or weather they can smell you when you near.

going out tonight to try my luck again for the two missing gold males i need for my multimount. trying out the new goat rifle along with my crossbow for pactise, but keeping the 44 with me as a defencive firearm or close quater sheep shooter.

i noticed that if a wolf attack you (iberian or american), all you have to do is to quickly deploy the tripod and jump on it.
the wolves will instantly run away without attacking you at all.

this tend to happen with every animals, including buffalo and else.

tripod is a life saver when hunting dangerous animals :)

these iberian wolves will attack also. found a pack resting about 8 spread out ,some two to three together , some sitting some lying and a couple roaming in circles. I think it was in the north east in colinas rota , shot one that was lying down, three came to where the shot came from the rest ran, killed all three of those with the 30.06 at 75m range open sites. then chased the other 4 down, killed another, one ran off and the last one circled back around to close in on me , finally killed it too...There is a lake in the north west corner of that area that has a need zone and a few wolves will be there as well.

also on the hayball land, i just cross a pack of 14 wolves... they didnt attacked me, but they where running through the whole hay land (from the trees side , to the "potato" plants land (i dont know what it is, but i always think its potatoes that have been planted XD)

i checked another day and i find a pack of 3 at the same place, crossing again in the exact same pattern.

Ive got my first wolf diamond, xmas eve, found it sleeping below the cliff on the north easten side of the map, to the south east of the coner mountain, ive also found numerios packs sleeping and hunting and ofc drinking around the two north center and east vally lakes, set up the hunter boxes and rarly had to wait blong before diffrent packs or lone wolves arrived, and i've even taken to stalking them. the 30.06 seems to be the best gun with soft points, along with the 44 rovolver for self defense. ive bagged a larger number now around these vallys and lakes in the north center and north east. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/768359624111851221/B10602FACCAABD792E1A201745492E1E1956C55A/ check him out :D

I’m not sure if this mission is still bugging everyone. I’m not sure if the Devs have re-jigged it but now you only have to find 1 need zone. So the issue now is it seems that you can’t spot just any zone - I found multiple rest zones in Colina Rota, but I only passed the mission when I found a feed zone to the north of the small lake at the bottom of the quarry. The lake has a ground blind at its southern shore. Good luck everyone!

If i'm not mistaken , the is a lake in the south center of Colinas map, the northeaset side of that lake has wolves.

In fairness to the devs, wolves around the world are not the same. Iberian wolves are crafty and evasive, almost invisible when they want to be. They are few on the ground per sq. mile, it's just the way it is here.

In contrast, although I've never been to the Yukon, the wolves there are world renown for being bold and invasive....not to mention very successful and thereby, there are many more per sq. mile.

I like that the Iberian wolves are more elusive. It would be dull if they were just a repeat of Yukon.

I have been playing the Spain map for quite a few months now. I don't have real difficulty in finding them. But I notice that they don't seem to attack anymore or, at least, not as regularly as they used to. When I first started playing in Spain the aggressive wolves were an exhilarating part of the map experience. Now I'm a bit disappointed (maul me please ... any wolf will do). They run away and keep their distance. Hell, the piggies in Mexico kill me more often than I encounter wolves in Spain. :) But I wholly understand the need for authenticity - dogshocker's comment above. If Iberian wolves are in reality more elusive and not really as aggressive, then I can live with it. But still ... I miss their gnarly faces and putrid breath. :)
