Is there any point in shooting the females of any species?
From what I've gathered so far, any kill is re-spawned as the same sex.
So, is there any point in shooting female deer or elk for example.

Only for money, so maybe only at the very beginning when you're still grinding for a scope or something like that.

The females of some species can make diamond too (Gray Fox, Gemsbok and some Hares for example), then it makes sense.

Have one drink zone on Layton that I see up to 13 cow elk (doe's)
Never any bull (pun intended)

May have to thin that herd just to see if a bull eventually shows up.

There are some rare fur types exclusive to females (best example is the crowned fur type for blue wildebeest). In that case it's definitely worth shooting some females just in case one respawns as a rare.

That's what I wonder sometimes but in the case of Elk or Deer they would only respawn another female.
Sometimes, If I've staked out a watering hole that usually has some good game and they don't turn up for some reason I'll occasionally take out a female out of boredom..... but generally now I'll leave them alone.

Is it possible that males who respawn after being killed in other herds could join an all female herd?

Have the same thought but have no idea.

Be nice to get a glimpse at the code that handles it, that isn't likely to happen.

Been a long time secret. I'm surprised it hasn't leaked by now.

But really, it wouldn't matter that much regarding the herds. The AI still has to try to maintain a set balance between does and bucks. So it would always be a question anyway.

Now, knowing 'where' an animal is returned would surely be helpful.

Herds seem to be considered by EW as harems for one or two males. So naturally, more does. And cuz hunters want males, players would tend to want more males, and hope to get that by replacing some of those females with males. And this is probably the reason EW designed the spawning the way it is now.

EW also has small bachelor herds positioned around the map, and they wouldn't want to have those being respawned with does.

only to grind out money, you get average £1000 per decent kill. females you get 700. so to get more money farm females.

I would like to say getting money in this game is no as necessary as thehunter1. there is no public competitions, no worth to most of the toys etc.

Well, after acquiring every possible weapon and all the tents and stands needed to leave the reserves stocked, the cost of taxidermy and multimounts isn't cheap. Not to mention if you should want to reset your skill or perk tree..

I'm in constant need of raising funds and milk the Hunt Club for all it's worth. I see the pro grinders end up sitting on millions, but I'm not one of those.

I just kill everything and I consider my total kill count and weapon score like a score in arcade game

Also killing females counts for steam achievements

For beginner like me. I will shoot every animal I see. No matter male, female or gay.
I shoot them all for Lvl and Money.

If this game is close to realistic as they say, the bulls send the cows out first to check for safety. Most animal species do the same, the reason being there are usually more cows then bulls in the species.

Chads Need Stacies To Make Giga Chads -- High & Low vs Middle Observe this principle for all animals, then recapitulate it down to each individual rating of your herd. You want the lowest possible and highest possible specimens, the widest scoring range to ratchet up your Golds & Diamonds. Do this to even Diamonds, and you'll see them tick up as well-- it's once you get those on the map that you can bottom out the lower end of the other animal ratings, then it's like clockwork. If you don't need the credits, don't shoot every thing that moves.

Some "packs" or groups of animals in the game won't spawn as a group but as a single female. She IS the pack. No others will spawn, and it is ultimately wasting you potential diamonds to leave it wandering. Killing it removes the pack and allows another potentially REAL group to spawn.

A solo female will never repopulate its pack.
