My question is whether or not your previous enjoyment of the game is suddenly irrelevant just because of numbers achievement?
Did you enjoy those 750 hours, or has your goal and focus always been on achievement?
I am aware that many people play games with a sole focus on getting every possible award, and trying to reach that level as quickly as possible. And than upon reaching that point, have no further incentive to play, and wouldn't enjoy it even if they did.
I think that certain games, like this, aren't designed to be played like that. And so people who try to play like that would certainly be put off by not being able to reach certain highs.
I'm not criticizing, just curious about whether or not you ever actually enjoyed the immersion and the genre at all, or have you been constantly striving for a diamond so much that you never really appreciated the genre anyway.
I would say that the design of this game is really not compatible with achievers.
It's true that heavier animals tend to score higher but it's also true that a single KG in weight can be the difference between an animal being rated as a Level 9 instead of a level 8.
This can work both ways since there are some species (Gemsbok, Moose, Rocky Mtn Elk just to name a few) where an animal rated as a level 4 instead of a level 5 can turn out to be a diamond. It's rare, but it happens. It's also why some level 3 (Whitetails), 5s or 9s will not score high enough to be a diamond. There are some species in the game where a max level animal is almost always going to be a diamond and some species where there are far more max levels that will not score high enough to be a diamond than those that will (Male Gemsbok, Red Deer and Feral Goats for example have abundant trolls).
Preciate the honest input.
Knowing where a person stands on certain things is beneficial to further effective communication.
I'm glad to hear you're not dissuaded. And I'd suggest that being expectant of let-downs can simultaneously exaggerate the good surprises.
I know that there are GOs in those woods, even though I've never seen one, and that expectation only enhances the excitement of the many possible encounters. And I maintain that same outlook with all trophy potentials, regardless of species, previous encounters/harvests, and potential achievements.
I never go into the woods with expectations of disappointment or allow an incident to take away from the enjoyment I had in the meantime.
Just knowing that around any corner, or hiding in any bush, I might suddenly encounter a trophy, is game enhancing regardless of the outcomes.
