Truracs is used by all.
I've played on PC and Xbox and found there to be no difference. But I have not played the last couple of DLCs on Xbox, and can't speak to any possible increased performance requirements for graphics or fps. I was also using an Xbox one, so can't speak to the upgraded performance of newer Xbox consoles.
I will state that my PC is a little outdated, I7 Dell, 1060 6g Super Nvidia GTX but it runs on ultra without any issues.
I would suggest that Steam/PC might offer future compatibility that the consoles might not keep up with.
I have already bought it on steam because i think some free DLC like Truracs which is important for me is not on the PC gamepass version.
I have the exact same spec PC as you too lol. It played ultra fine. But on the game pass version there's a bit of stutter even on high. Kinda weird considering both are exactly the same game.
Try turning off the fog, not the map fog, but actual environment atmospheric fog. Also make sure you have all the antialising options turned on.
Another thing to do is go into your game and set your fps to a specific number , 60 or 70, so it's not all over the place. That causes stress on some aspect of the computing. I'm not technically inclined enough to properly explain it.
I haven't done the fps limit on mine because I'm not having any issues, but it's recently been suggested as an improvement in some threads
Also a good idea to do these things one at a time while checking to see what differences each effort actually makes.
