Was it realy supposed to be like that?
Original maps had the noise done well. You could obviously see that fallen leaves or shrubs would make noise.
That's true, but as far as I can tell you can walk around in this game with nothing but a duck caller and you'll still be just as loud as if you're carrying 25 lbs.
As mentioned, it's not really difficult to deal with as far as the actual hunting, but it is a little distracting when you try to move slowly through some branches and it seems you're forced to scrape every twig and branch along your nylon jacket while you shuffle through as many dead leaves as you can.
I would be in favor of toning it down a bit.
It used to be much better all over in the early days.
