I logged in on one map one day, and within five minutes had two mythicals.
Always just off...
Five minutes after that I run into another mythical grey wolf. These guys common or am I being super lucky with that at least?
IMO it may seem that way simply because as player's level up so also does their knowledge around how to acquire these higher scoring trophies.
AAMOF, if a player is engaged solely in leveling, they will probably not acquire that same degree of knowledge and only serve to prolong their quest.
My experience is that as you start taking the higher levels out of a herd it will trigger higher levels to spawn in their stead. I'm not sure how that trigger affects the actual RNG, but it's why you will start to see more Mythical during that 'triggered' period of time.
And given that the next level is the rarest, it makes sense that, during this event horizon, a player will see more Mythicals and Sevens on the verge of the Legendary or Great One spawning.
And this process can be done regardless of player's level.
