Neither, go for the Zarza 10.

Boooo, Bolt Action feels better. Know Zarza is a Auto Rifle and can down 4 easily with less recoil ..... But it ain't Bolt Action

I like the .303 a lot. Malmer does have more punch though, which will matter for longer shots.

Currently doing my .303 Missions on Te Awora Map, looking for a 7mm Malmer replacement.

I know Zarza is better, but I like Bolt Actions. Feels more impactful.

honestly 303 is a fun gun dont get me wrong but the power and punch of the malmer wins me over

I find the malmer the best of the 2, I like the reload, but it just lacks the punch I usually need.

for bigger animals i use the new 338 wannabe lapula from the high powered DLC alongside the malmer...i usually dont need anything else unless it is a 22 for birds/rabbits

Oddly, I unlocked the .303 yesterday, and I can't decide between Malmer or .303

The .303 at 150m just seems to drop everything on the spot.

It does seem however at 300+, the 7mm seems to bleed a animal out faster than the .303.

That being said, hunting for example Wildebeest .... 2 Double Lungs one after the other seems to drop them on the spot .... 7mm or .303 at 300+

Red Deer both seem to struggle in terms of Double Lungs.

True, it depends on what you hunt.

This is the logical thing to do, but I want to carry as less weapons as possible while being able to kill everything in a reserve.

Less logical I know .... But too much weapons is just too much for me, plus I usually just carry a Tent with me for setup purposes when I find a spot to hunt, so I can't carry too much weapons.

i keep a bow,2 rifles,a tent, bunch of scent elim, the callers i need(usually 3 or 4),first aid, plus my binos on top of a handful of rounds for each weapon as my typical loadout and it still is just a tad over half of my carry weight

What I do when I'm in an area where the animals I want to hunt are all within a good hiking area, I'll drop my tent in the central area of that location, and than I can carry some extra weight while hunting there, and still have nearby access to a tent.

I like to carry that air rifle for its silent qualities, which is very adequate for whitetail, etc without causing too many spook factors.

Red Deer both seem to struggle in terms of Double Lungs.

Did you mean the gun struggles to get double lung kills, or that the deer struggled to survive it???

When I first got those weapon DLCs I took the guns immediately to the Hersch firing range to compare and try their ranges. You can't really test their killing power at the firing range though. That needs the various animals as targets.

What I found regarding the various 308 calibers was that none of them kept up with the Zarza 10 beyond 300 yards. And like you have noticed, the other 308s do have good hitting power at 150 yards. But when you start to get beyond that range, they tend to lose killing power, depending of course the size of the animals.

I do alot of moose hunting and find the 308s to lack killing power beyond 150 yards, but the Zarza managed to exceed that reliably to about 250 yards.

The larger animals just seem to be a little too much body cavity for the 308s beyond 150 yards, the Zarza at about 225, resulting in a lot of tracking.

I do like using the 308s within their limits, and enjoy the various characteristics. But they really get left behind with the majority of my particular types of hunting.

308s struggle at range yes,,,hence why i prefer the new 338 for large animal hunting. it has fatnastic stopping power at nearly 300m+. in terms of the 303 i dont usually use it past 150m so i dont know its full potential
