What's with all the trolls?

Man the new map is loaded with trolls. It seems 90% of the legendary animals troll. I've got a few diamonds but the amount of animals that troll on this new map seems higher than others.

What do you mean by trolls in hunting context and latest map?
I know of trolls on forums (we have a few) but not on maps

A troll is an animal with max level, but no diamond potential.

I haven´t played Australia yet, but according to a lot of yt content, Kangoroo produce lots of trolls, so your impression could be right. Furthermore Feral Goats were always the classic troll animals, with a troll rate of 95 %. Red Deer also tend to troll a lot, on other maps too.

Difficulty and trophy rank are different indicators, but there is a misunderstanding about them, which is why posts like this keep coming up.

What misunderstanding? There is a clear correlation between level and trophy rating, so it's reasonable to expect the highest score for the highest level. I think it was less ambiguous before Scoring 2.0, they messed it up when they made that transition.

You're absolutely right Sienna!

I don't where the troll term became aligned with CoTW scoring processes, but it's acceptance doesn't make it worthy of application.


Yes, some species on some maps might have higher odds of having scores that don't quite make diamond. But why does that have to be defined as trolling and why does it have to be so contentious?

If anything it just makes acquiring the top score a little rarer, which it should be anyway.

If the highest trophy score was won too often it wouldn't seem as rewarding, and that is often a regular complaint when some players become bored with no longer being challenged.

As usual the Devs just can't win, and pleasing everyone all of the time, as the metaphorical donkey attests, is impossible.

It´s just a term, there is no need to discuss this. But of course, if you dislike the term "troll" you can call it something else.

I agree with the OP. Too few diamonds to start on a map.
