Drones or small rotorcraft
Someone posted a trolly "automatic weapons and helicopters" discussion, which I thought was funny, but it got me thinking that maybe if the latter was toned down it could be plausible.

To be specific, I'm thinking of one of those small fan-power rotor copters that you could use to travel from place to place instead of the ATV. If you'd want to be more restrictive and realistic a battery powered drone with a limited 600m radius could be a substitute.

Obviously the former would need to be restricted heavily for it to work. I would think that if they were to include the copter they would need to only allow the copter to take off and land at specific LZ's.

To my knowledge the latter is popular for scouting game which, with the inclusion of game cameras, could make for an exciting update.

This has probably been suggested before and the idea's most likely too complex to include in the game but these may be things to consider in future titles.

A fast drone and placeable cams would be cool to scout out game.

I vaguely remember a program that was available some time ago that allowed the user to fly a camera drone of sorts all over a map. It ceased to work after an update, which was a shame, because it gave you the opportunity to see everything, including the wildlife, from a different perspective. I can't remember what the program was called though.

This sounds like a nice idea, but it gets into the area of ethics/legality. In my state, you just can't do this. You can't hunt with drones, scout with drones, or search/recover killed animals with drones.

Well laws and ethics are often at odds. There are plenty of unethical laws on the books, that are used for oppressive purposes rather than the good of a community.

Not to say people should be able to hunt with drones, BTW, but using them to scout and locate downed animals, is not really unethical IMO. It's just illegal.

I don't disagree.
