Where should i be shooting the Saltwater Crocs?
By where, i mean where on their body? I shot one, but it wasn't a kill shot, just went under water. Wondering, where the heck should i be shooting those things?

Brain shots are OK with them, if you can do the penetration.
If they're charging you, you can get a lung shot just where the front leg meets the body.

Broadside, just behind the front legs, again for a lung shot. I keep hearing players say they go for neck/spine shots, but I've never had one land on a croc.

If you hit on side and he goes to dive in water just wait a bit. He will die down there and his body will pop up later and float in direction of your shot. You can then harvest it. BUT be cautious as you approach water that one of his wifes is not lurking in water and only waits your approach to torn you apart for having shot her hubby.... BE ready!

Been there. Was a close call!

You don't say your equipment. I was having a tough time using the 270, as it was just a little underpowered, and find the 7mm works like a charm. You need a fairly hard hit with mass to really do enough damage to keep them from going into the water and going under.

And no, they do not always die down there and float. Sometimes they do, often times they do not. If they can get to deep water before they bleed out, they are gone forever.

So your best shots are going to be gators up on land trying to rest, with a little distance to get to water and have a chance at escaping.

I target the neck, just behind the ears and slightly ahead of the front the legs. If they are charging, I just go for a brain shot.

It is helpful if you can fire a follow-up shot. You don't get penalized for shooting it twice, and a second shot helps accelerate the death.

As far as I understand, this should no longer occur after the latest patch. The condition where you theoretically hit a croc hard enough to kill it, but can't harvest it because it got away, should no longer exist. Either you hit it hard enough to kill it, then it should eventually float up and towards you. If it doesn't, then you haven't hit it hard enough to kill it, and the wound eventually stopped bleeding (just like with any other animal).

I agree on this. Been hunting crocodiles a lot lately. Got many golds, a diamond, and a leucistic (albino) today. Most shots in lungs, but also one in neck (instant death).
On the beach, in swallow water as they came at me from the deep, and the most tense: in the mangrove. They are amazingly fast and really dangerous. They use their long tail as a balance on grass and mud. I only had one escaping (probably a non vital hit). The others came popping up (funny to see) or died in the grass or on the sands.

I just love this reserve and map. The best ever.

I need a new pair of boots. One crocodile got away with my left boot. I kept the foot.
