Can we get some nice scopes please?
Love the continued support by devs with this game. But, for the love of God, can we please get some nice newer scopes? I would gladly pay money for a scope DLC. Devs please help us out here, I think others who play this game might feel the same way.

what's wrong with the current ones? I see nothing wrong tbh

Exactly. I think some people want self-aiming scopes. Or to shoot animals far beyond the effective range of any weapons in the game.

Yeah give us COD laser pointers and flashlights attached to the Zarza .308 and a holographic red dot sight. I'm going to war. Once I get 3 kills in a row I want to be able to call in a helicopter kill streak to clear up the forest. Then once the map is clear, spawn me into a Layton lake multiplayer map where everyone drops in at random spots and its a pvp battle royale last player standing wins. Winner takes all trophies from all players.

But realistically what kind of scopes do we need? What are your ideas? or what makes the scopes we have now, not nice?

How can they help if noone knows what you mean? Could you please explain what your idea is or what you think is missing on the currently available scopes?

No, people want scopes that actually make sense for hunting. I made a rather lengthy post about it one time.

TL;DR version:
- Ascent 1-4x scope has a fine reticle that is suboptimal for it's intended use (tracking fast moving targets) - a thicker reticle, or an illuminated one would be a lot better;

- 4-8x scopes have weird magnification range, too high on the low end and too low on the high to really call it a universal scope. Modern hunting scopes are often starting at 2x (for example 2-10x, or 2-12x) which gives you a lot better field of view on the low end (and then there are scopes like 1-8x or 1-10x). Even older 3-9x has bigger magnification range than what's in game. In case of the Hyperion 4-8x scope the reticle is too thick and often completely covers small game like foxes (Ascent thin reticle would fit it like a glove).

- Argus 8-16x has a very good reticle for it's intended use, but again the magnification range is weird. Real life scopes with 16x maximum magnification usually start at 4x. This overlaps with lower range scopes (for example 3-9x) and for a reason - in real life you won't be able to switch scopes on the fly, and hunting enviroment is dynamic one. So even if you're taking a "long range" scope (although real life LR scopes are more in the 5-25x range) you still want that wide field of view on the low end, to help with either tracking moving targets, or just having better situational awareness.

As you probably noticed, none of the scopes in COTW have overlapping magnification ranges - and aside of Ascent they don't really mimic any typical hunting scope. In practice I always take all the 3 of them and switch them on the fly since game allows that - but that's really silly if you ask me. And doesn't help with bad reticles on Ascent and Hyperion. Meanwhile in theHunter: Classic I have a single 2-10x scope on most of my guns - and it fits 90% of my hunting there. It has a good wide field of view on the low end for close and/or fast targets, and it's maximum magnification of 10x is enough to take even on small varmints at 200+ meter ranges (the maximum view distance in Classic is somewhere between 275-300 meters IIRC). And there are a number of other great scopes in there for other uses (like modern 1-8x "LPVO" with illuminated reticle which is great for wild boars and other fast targets in close distances).

Classic's scope choice is amazing, and that's despite technological limits of the engine (for example there's a true-to-life 5-22x long range scope even with aforementioned low view distance in the game). COTW regressed in this regard not only with bad design of reticles, but also with a seemingly arbitrary magnification ranges for "higher tier" scopes, where the only rule is that "numbers twice as big mean the item is twice as better". Which is a bad approach - when it comes to scope magnification there is no "tiers" but rather intended usage.

I have to agree with this as well. I really like the Classic scope (you start with), but it doesn't zoom far enough. The other scopes zoom further, but then I can't see anything within 50m. And that thick reticle sucks. Not to mention... WTF is up with all the scope sway? I get that it's realistic at full magnification in a standing position, but the sway is no better at half zoom from a prone position. I think that's the main reason I like the classic scope better. Less unrealistic sway. The kickback gets on my nerves a bit too. You line up your site, pull the trigger, and the scope points to the sky like you just fired a rocket launcher or something. A rifle tight in the should won't deviate that much.

Side Note: I only used the rocket launcher example for effect. I've actually fired several types of rocket launchers and they have no recoil at all.

I have complained about this approx a year ago about the sway and the scope looking for geese after you fire the shot. No changes and the fan boys/girls think its okay.I complained about it a little while ago and got the same thing this time as I got back then!
