The other thing to try is to shoot and kill the animal at night, but then claim the trophy during the day.
Apparently some players are claiming that simply detaching a scope from a rifle to satisfy 'harvest an animal without a scope' no longer works - they had to remove the scope from the inventory.
The wording of missions has always been inconsistent, but in context, the intent has always been clear enough to anyone with any common sense. Now it seems that some mission developers are misunderstanding the intent.
