Aim Sensitivity Scaling Fixed?
I purchased then immediately refunded this game because aim sensitivity does not scale with FOV (zoom). This is a required feature of any first person game.

Has aim sensitivity scaling been added or is there a file edit? The reviews are good, so I must be missing something. It's on sale and I want to give it another chance.

No, they made the game with 1920x1080 and consoles. None of the stretched resolutions work properly with the FOV, the binocular sensitivity is messed up unless you use a controller.

What about the scoped weapons?
I think the OP might be making reference to how certain animals are scaled in the zoom view.

As I recall there does exist an issue where the Devs try to resolve the portrayal of smaller game in the scope and binocs, in correlation to their actual position on the ground in normal view scale.

For example sometimes, when viewing a turkey at a distance it's scale is not accurately portrayed with the landscape, and it looks gigantic.

Than again, it's possible that's exactly what Victoria just said, lol.

None of the above is what I am referring to. Last time I played, angular aim sensitivity did not scale with FOV (zoom) to retain a 1:1 relationship between mouse speed and object speed across the screen. This feature is such a common default in all games that there isn't even a specific word for it. If you want an example, Battlefield 1 allows this to be adjusted, and an explanation is given in the interface:

I will explain the relationships between...

.....m.....Movement of the mouse across the pad (cm)

.....o.....Apparent movement of an object across the screen (cm)

.....a.....Angular movement of an object relative to the player camera (degrees)

.....r.....Ratio that's automatically adjusted by the game (in some FPS's,
this can be adjusted by the player, but doing so is bad practice)

.....c.....Some constant that we don't really care about

How TH:COTW works:

.....No zoom (default FOV):

..........m = c * o

..........m = c * a

.....Some zoom level (less than default FOV):

.......... m < c * o

..........m = c * a

How all other FPS's work:

.....No zoom:

..........m = c * o

..........m = c * a

.....Some zoom level:

..........m = c * o

..........m = c * a * r

..........r is adjusted by the game whenever zoom level (FOV) changes to preserve the
..........muscle memory relationship between mouse and object movement.

Oh, when you mentioned Aim, I thought you were referring to aiming weapons. which is why I went down the wrong rabbit hole LOL.

Now I see what you mean - you mean the control you use to look around ( which, yes, is the aim control stick if you are using a controller).

Well, all I can say is that in 2000 hrs of playing the game, I've never noticed any adverse effects - then again, I use the controller exclusively for moving and looking around, selecting items and such. I have the game on PS4 (dualshock controller) and PC( with XBOX controller). On PC, I do use the mouse when manipulating the UI menus, for the store, storage and inventory - it's just more convenient when you can fast scroll with the mouse wheel or drag and drop between storage and inventory, or inventory and the fast item access list.

As I said, I think you can still enjoy the game, regardless of how this is implemented. I'm on a 4K HD 32" curved monitor (PC), and my screen resolution is set for 4K. I played around with the FOV setting for a bit, but found that the default setting was just fine, so I saw no reason to ever change it. I've had no perception of problems with the binoculars or the scopes, as it didn't take long to get used to their behaviors.
Again, your call, but if that was your only reason for not buying the game, then you are missing out.

I was referring to aiming weapons from the hip and through the sight. It's very hard to explain. I have never played a game made after 2005 that's not had "sensitivity scaling". If you played any other shooter with variable zoom (with a mouse) then switched to TH:COTW, you would immediately understand.

I am just going to download it and test it. Thank goodness for Steam's refund policy.
if you are talking about Aim Down Sight sensitivity being different than Look Sensitivity, then yes, it is different. I see no options to change ADS to the same movement capabilities as the Look Sensitivity.

Nope. Still not fixed and it's infuriating. To put it simply, the sensitivity of the input controller (in my case PS4) while aiming, is exactly the same whether you're on a 16x scope maxed out trying to take a 400m deer shot or on a 1x red dot sight strafing like a loon trying to avoid the pointy end of a cape buffalo. At anything above 1 or 2 sensitivity at long range shooting, the controls are too twitchy to place an accurate shot. At the same sensitivity you can't turn or look up/down fast enough to keep your sights on an animal while it's running circles around you trying to kill you. So you end up relying on the 'hip shot' which is tied to the look sensitivity, not the aim sensitivity, which is wildly inaccurate for all weapons even hand guns and is essentially useless.
Think I'm lost in the tech here, but could this sensitivity you're talking about involve not being able to hit animals within close range if your scope isn't zoomed all the way in?

I've been telling people for years to always zoom scopes back in after usage so you don't make the mistake of taking a close shot with scope still zoomed out. Or always use hip shot for close range.

There is option called "toggle scope" or something similar. On PC you can press middle mouse button and on console you need to bind that to something. What it does is that it removes your scope from wepon you are using untill it's pressed again. This way if dangerous animal charges you, you can just hit that button and now you with iron sight ready to take aimed shot
