EW needs to have random drops on a map for a trophy . Just like In real life be a lot more fun when you hunt you never know when your going to see a trophy animal as In real life. This jumping out of a tent and shooting male animals Is wrong one after the other and using a tent to set a time change again and again and again.I would like to see a random drops on the entire map to make It seem like your hunting In game, when EW game allows for a trophy drop for you.
Where you always have a chance at a great animal on the map just like real hunting . Not saying anything about cutting back on animals, you can still kill as many as you want . Just make the game more random and your trophy Is on the map any given time you just need to find him. These people shoot hundreds of Moose In one spot . What EW should do Is respawn there diamond or great one some place else. Like I say more random chance across the Intire map.
EW has been deliberately making the game harder on purpose because of how those streamers play the game. People have been complaining that it's unfair because those who exploit the system and min-max the game make up only a small portion of the community, and they are making the game harder for the majority, just for the sake of a few.
The argument that those streamers shouldn't do that because "that's not hunting" is entirely subjective. Telling other people how they should play their game or that they are only allowed to do things a certain way - that's a bit of an elitist mindset IMO. If those people aren't interfering with anyone else (aka multiplayer) then they should be able to play however they want.
I for one, don't think it's wise to hinge all of your development and balance decisions around the choices of a few players that deliberately break the game for their own amusement. You patch something up and they will find other ways to break through it. Do it for long enough and you may end up making a "COTW: Dark Souls Edition" that is only playable for those who are willing to turn this game into a full time job.
I understand why EW favors streamers so much; because they promote the game and bring in more revenue via new players, which is more than us ordinary people do for the game. But they risk alienating a good portion of their playerbase like that.
This is a game, it's not real hunting. Those that think it should be regulated like real hunting need to get off their computer and actually hit the woods and do it for real, and stop badgering people for playing a "game", the way they wish. The hell with all the critics lately. The Dev's need to come to a conclusion of which bunch to tick off, because there is no appeasing both sides, within the constraints of the game. Fix what is broken, leave the rest alone! Ignore the whiners after, and touch nothing that isn't broken, or good luck selling future expansions and games.
It's a game not real hunting.
People want to play the game like it is real hunting, but what OP is saying is people find the exact spot a top end trophy spawns and kill it over and over and then go "ToO EaSy MaKe HArdER" and those who want to play like its real hunting in a hunting simulator end up suffering as the game is made harder to please the few who camp such activities
At the moment the other game isn't having this love/hate relationship going on, and that is dangerous turf for this games developers to be in. Most of this games players also own and play that game. It takes nothing to have people suddenly switch from one game to the other. History shows us that with games such as EA's Battlefield 3, which lost a ton of players to Call Of Duty, due to the constant patch, patch, patch, nerf, buff, nerf, buff. Each time trying to fix or balance something, only to break more and more of the game. People like me just abandoned their franchise completely. Due to EA did the same thing to the next Battlefield, I was out and have never gone back. I owned and played every BF prior and logged in tens of thousands of hours. Their tweaking lost a customer that bought everything they produced with all add on's, pre ordering and so on. More importantly it lost thousands and thousands of such players. How do I know? I have a large gaming clan. Half were out by BF3, another 1/3 by BF4. Now around 10 guys out of a hundred play any of the BF games. I hated Dice so much for what they did to a good thing that I have not bought many EA titles since. People punish with their wallet. I did.
In those online FPS games, campers ruined it as well, but EA had little ability to do anything about it, as it was a game exploit that changing, was near impossible without re-writing monstrous amounts of code. The Developers need to keep this in mind and leave it for the next game they do. Tweak as little of this game as possible, because they have a tremendous slew of issues suddenly since the last couple of patches. Each patch fixes ten things and breaks 45 more. My thoughts at least on it. Hey, but I am old. I started out on Pinball 50 years ago. What do I know about games nowadays. I do know that the more you tick people off, the more you judge them, and force them into something they didn't sign up for, the more you are going to get animosity and other unpleasant responses from them. You can't cater to everyone, but boy can you ever piss positively everyone off. 100% guaranteed.
This game is brilliant. Personally I like that any player can play any which way they wish. I do think the guys making videos pointing out exploits to so many is quite counter productive to the average normal gamer like you guys and myself. I just know human Psychology far too well. I went to university and studied it and meh...yeah, all was perfect and then people.
It's 2022. If you want to teleport around the map like a wizard and shoot need zones for social media points, cool.
I think it's a little sad to do that in your free time. But, it's not my problem.
- All Spawns Should be completely random animal locations every time the map is loaded so there are no hotspots so to speak, should only be 1 trophy per species per map and only way to find it every hunt would be to kill every animal on the map.
- Great ones with silly racks should not even be in the game.
never seen a pic of real red deer with 60 tines looking like some crazy drug trip.
(just normal Real world trophies is more than enough)
- Animals need to run & flee much more when gunshots go off (now you can call them back in like 30 seconds and they come back after you just shot 1 in its herd from only 100m away from herd)
(I'd expect a good 750-1000m of tracking to find a buck after a gunshot missed it. if not much more than 1km)
