best performance: .303 vs .308 vs .30-06 ?
i just came back to the hunter after a pretty long break. as i can remember the .308 was the best for tier 4-8. has this changed now? because as i see the .30-06 hast one more point in penetration now.

also i want to ask why the .303 is more expensive than the .308 and .30-06? is there any reason for that? because, by stats, the others are the better choice as i see.

i have to say that i just care about the single shot performance. thats why i used the 7mm often back then, but it has even worse pen now.

What do you think is the best (single shot) performer for mid tier game?

I like 30-06 and .300 best.
30-06 for 4-6
.300 for 7-9

after long time testing all of the mid game weapons my final choice is still the 7mm mag, it hits so hard and its statisfying hunting with that one deadly shot loaded.

308 is best within 300 yds, but trajectory is bad after that.

Eskers 3006 is best for range beyond 300-375.

303 has good range too but doesn't hit as hard.

almost same distance, similar angle but the trackingdistance is much longer on .30-06, at least against moose. maybe ive got to try smaller game next.

okay, tracking distance is pretty much broken and bugged right now.

For a one-shot kill the muzzleloader with the minne ball is also pretty impressive out to about 250m.

thats true! but you better dont miss any shot with that one, because of one day long reload speed ;) but yeah this thing is a good damage stick

"you better dont miss any shot with that one"

Exactly why I love it. My father always said "If you're not sure, don't take the shot." It forces you to take your time with the setup but it's so sweet to see a level 4 moose knocked off it's feet.

one downside of the .50 ingame is the zeroing of max 200meters. i dont know how it is in real life?! but thats why i dont use it ingame. so i use the 7mm mag, > one shot, long+short range ability < this is what i need to be efficient.

Tracking distance is how far you travelled after your shot until you harvested the kill.

its still not correct, i got 0meters from time to time or 1,5km also. completly wrong numbers mostly

tracking distance is the distance from the first track you found to the location of harvest
