At Roonachee Church I crouch-walked up to the shooting stand build kit. There were 2 blacktail deer with a clear view of me: a level-3 buck that was 125 meters, and a level-2 doe that was 123 meters. The wind was in my favor, but they both had an unobstructed view to me and the wind was light.
While crouching I activated the "build" icon and the shooting stand was erected with the usual noise. Neither deer had any reaction, not even a flinch nor a raised awareness posture.
I then climbed into the shooting stand and paced around in it a few times. Again, no reactions.
I exited the shooting stand and, naturally, I immediately got into crouch posture. No reaction from either deer.
I then stood up and took just 2 steps and instantly got a warning call from the buck. They both ran just a few seconds later.
Now, blacktails are the easiest animals on Layton Lake map and do not spook easily; they are easy to get into close proximity to. And level 2 and 3 have particularly weak senses. I expect higher level and more difficult species would be more likely to react to the building of a shooting stand, but I have not had the opportunity to test.

Two days ago I did a similar experiment on Layton Lake map.
I snuck up on a large heard of Roosevelt Elk, keeping the wind in my favor. There was a good variety of levels on the elk. They were between 80 - 120 meters away.
From a prone position I setup a Tripod. Instantaneously they all freaked out and left the area. Many outright ran, some just trotted; perhaps the higher leveled elk were the ones that ran and maybe the easier leveled ones were the ones that only trotted? I don't know because I couldn't get much spotting done in all the commotion.

"Your mileage may vary."
We know for certain that different species are more likely to spook, and higher-level animals within the same species are more difficult because they can have better senses than lower-level ones.
But maybe things also vary per-map? Maybe building a shooting stand on Layton Lake yields less attention (or maybe no attention), but building the same structure on a different map triggers more attention?
Did my first at 214-220m (puma), second 246m (can't remember) and finally 286m (heard of water buffalo's), They all spooked the animals.
The last one I had a water buffalo charge me from 286m just for setting up my tent.
After I set up my tent, I had a blind not far from my tent and started walking to it and after a while I heard a noise behind me, I turned around it was one of the buffalo's in the heard I was watching charging my tent and then starting to attack me... hahahahah NOT KIDDING.
My conclusion is that it is probably 300m spook area.
This is good info. if memory serves the last pay to build structure i built to finish them all on LL was in Caldern and it spooked the elk nearby. So that's been changed or it could be like you said and species related.
i set up a tripod and tent with a brown bear in line of sight 187m away last night and he didn't do anything. I then called crawled forward to put him in range of the caller, and called him to the stand. Climbing on the stand spooked him so he made a warning sound, but then after wandering in circles for a minute or 3 i was able to call him in again. Shot him and got a warning call from the right, other side of my tent, from another. Called that one in (he walked right by the tent like it was a rock) and capped that one to complete the QK and Score mission for a Brown bear.
So, is it species related to the spooking from setting up a tripod/tent? What animal did you spook in Medved and do you recall the distance?
Nice tests, useful info. Thanks!
