What DLC is worth getting ?
I have zero interest in stuff that surves no purpose other than being a cosmetic thing. Weapons, maps, what is worth buying, or what is i should never buy ?

Tents allow fast travel to custom locations, tripods and treestands allow you to shoot more animals without destroying need zones and allow you to be a bit higher up and fairly hidden where no hunting stand exists.

actually, all of the DLCs serve a useful purpose in the game, as each provides enhanced hunting or travel capabilities. It depends on how you want to hunt.
The basic ones to get: ATVs, tents, portable hunting structures, all the basic weapons packs, the high tech hunting pack (enhanced, binos, range finders, night vision). Are you going waterfowl hunting? Get the Geese pack and/or the ducks pack. Gonna use muzzle loaders? get the smoking barrels pack.

If you are not sure, you can always start minimalist, and add on DLCs as you discover the need for them.

One caveat: if you buy only the basic game, and decide to add on, you might end up paying more than if you went for a bundle to start: Best value is the Diamond Bundle.

Some things in the simulation serve no useful purpose - like clothing. What your avatar wears has no effect on visibility in the field, but I suppose in multiplayer mode, it would make you fashionably chic.

Only Yukon Valley is needed to get the the .300 Canning weapon for big animals. All reserves can be visited for free in Mulitplayer.

The amount of stuff Is amazing, Lots of maps or reserves, tents ,tree stands ,atv, a dog, blinds, tents, bows, what don't this game have, hundreds of animals ,dozens of birds to shoot shot guns at least work
way past 50 yards. So many weapons to choose from. This game Is not over priced , If you bought everything the amount of money still would be fair. You have enough to do In this game for years wait for It to go on sale If you have too. To be honest 20,00 per year Is pretty cheap to play a game and supporting It so It don't fold up.. Still the number one hunting game for now.......I know there Is one game out but from what I have seen I will wait until its fixed I mean a lot. 55.00 a lot of money for a game that should not have even been released for another year maybe more.EW can In six months could make all new everything from animal behavors to what ever, and I'm sure EW Is watching everything. I see no reason to jump ship yet or waist 55.00 dollars elseware. I'm sure EW going to have to step It up some down the road but for now the other hunting game still falls flat In some ways.......

So many 13 maps when the new one comes out I still have not played three of them yet......My favorites are Layton Lake ,and Silver Ridge Peaks. There are others that are close you need to find yours. Grab some callers go to town have fun..

I never thought bird hunting was going to be any good but this game has really did a good job , When I hunt with a shot gun In game for ducks and Geese and turkeys EW did such a good job hunting birds In game ,takes me back to when I drove down grape vin yards and shot pheasants down the rows and hunting fields. IF I was EW you should be proud of this , cant wait till you bring out more reserves and animal behavors. And I mean more not just one animal behavors I mean lots of them..

All of them
Morte-360 Nov 27, 2022 @ 4:32am
The only one I'd consider absolutely essential is the two portable structure packs (treestands, blinds, tents) and high tech hunting pack for the night vision. However, the maps and weapons packs are just gravy if one interests you buy it, they add variety. So if one interests you may as well get it.

The only one I might not recommend is the bloodhound. It does what it's intended to, actually to the point I got lazy having him track down wounded animals but he is LOUD as ♥♥♥♥. It's like walking the map with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bigfoot tabbing alongside you.

Tents and tree stands bundles. I mean those 2 bundles.

It will depend a great deal on how you will actually be playing the game. It has so many options that it appeals to a wide spectrum. Will you be an ultra realistic that wants everything to be as hard as possible? Or doesn't like to have easing options such as perks and skills. If so than you won't be wanting any DLCs that offer such things like ATVs, tents, or tripods, or maybe modern tech.

How you will prefer to play should determine your purchases.

IMHO, to get the most you can from this game I'd suggest getting the tent for mobile store/inventory access.

The ATV if you don't like hiking across miles of terrain.

The Yukon Reserve for the 300 as someone above pointed out. It is the best large game gun and a necessity in many cases.

The tripods allow for ambush tactics anywhere you choose, if you like scouting for your prey and setting up in their territory as opposed to chance encounter hunting. But if you think you would like to just start the game and wander/encounter, than you'll have no need for tripods. They are expensive and do require allowing for some passage of time before using after they are set up.

If you like bird hunting you definitely want to grab Revontuli, which BTW, is probably also the best map for moose, brown bear, and whitetail.

Silver Ridge Peaks is a great map for open woodland/pasture hunting.

All except NZ and Missisippi.

Tents. Tents are the only dlc I would consider absolutely necessary. When you find a productive but remote location it's nice not to have to spend a long time traveling every time you go there.
As for maps, if one looks interesting to you find a multiplayer game to join and check out the map before deciding to buy. One of the good points of this game.

Because camping and driving ATVs is sci fi. And because learning and developing is also, just so unrealistic.
