Cheating Players
Had a player on my server last night that was cheating. After this player joined we stopped getting mating calls or response from the animals , but began to notice one player was getting an extremlty large amount of kills very close together from all breeds of game on the server. I fast traveled to his location and sat on a ridge above were he was hunting. Within 15 min he had a score of almost 16k I watched him blow his Elk caller and bring in large groups of animals that would not run when the other game around them were killed. This guy was standing in an open field killing game as they stood next to him.

If the cheats start coming on COTW is not good, they will ruin this beautiful game, on Fishing Planet they are tolerated, the Devs know the situation and do nothing to fight them.

only thing you can do is kick him from your game. also make sure you set up a friends only game.

Whats the point in cheating this game? Man some people will cheat at anything.

Cheats have been in COTW forever. It is actually pretty easy to hack, even without advanced programming skills. Cheating is lame in any game IMO and all cheaters in games should face criminal charges lol. But yeah I've seen cheaters join my multiplayer games on occasion since the beginning.

What we really need is more administrative capabilities on our hosted multiplayer servers. Also need some checks added into the game to make sure that Hunt Club stats aren't being exploited by those cheats. I don't mind people cheating in single player so long as it doesn't count towards anything that involves the legit players.

But IMO the devs don't seem to be very inclined to add any sort of anti-cheat or cheat-protection. Thus far it seems they have been more focused on the core gameplay, while multiplayer functionality has come at a far lower priority. Not saying it SHOULDN'T be that way... but I don't really expect this to be addressed anytime soon. Especially considering the asking price that even the cheapest anti-cheats charge a developer. They'd need a more massive playerbase to make that worthit financially, perhaps.

Epic has launched some big lawsuits at a couple cheaters in Fortnite. They realize what that does to their product and how costly it can be when the game dies because of it. But that is a very competitive game. Not sure what ones gains from cheating in COTW, other than showing what a jack ass they are.
