Next Map

So for the last 3 years, we had a new map dropping each early/mid december.
Where do you guys think it will be this year ? I would like a "jungle" type of map in south east asia, south america or Africa.

Lol, I have so many maps keeping me busy now that I haven't even thought about it.

But you're right, there isnt really a typical rain forest jungle type map.

big africa map with alot of new animals would be cool, jungle sounds like a nightmare tho. no visibility and every step making way too much sound would make it a horrible experience.

There's so much content already, but I'm always ready for more maps! :D
Perhaps somewhere between NZ and a djungle-theme? That would take us to somewhere in the middle of Australia's outback? Mixed forest with steppe elements?

If I were to place a vote, I'd call for a very flat tundra region, cut out by smaller river canyon systems and sandy deltas. Typical landmarks being quarries, logging stations and one or two rail tracks crossing thru. Big areas of glacial erratics and dead ice topography, the area in general having one or two big eskers running thru the area. Getting carried away... :)

Considering we haven't heard a peep about any new map at this point, I doubt we're getting one before the end of the year. At this point, that's probably a good thing. They have a lot of work getting the game back in shape bug squashing-wise, especially considering how many bugs have been introduced with the last few additions.

Past history has them making announcements six weeks out. We would have had at least a tease at this point if they are planning to release with enough time before the holidays. Most devs are not dumb enough to release major content within a week of a huge holiday like Christmas. I think we can at least give EW some credit for being smarter than that, I think.

Most likely, if they even have been working on something, we won't see it until January at the earliest.

i want more exotic animals since im not a fan of it in real life, but it would be super cool to hunt a giraffe haha or monkeys... just something different..

Scotland for me. Red Grouse moors with walked up/shot from butts option (the beater dlc for the rich boys and easy sell). Usual stack of deer, thinning out re-introduced wolves, hunting down escaped big cats kept by lunatics, and the occasional irate hunt saboteur/royal paparazzi to pay off/hide from. Throw in a flock or two of pigeon and rare ptarmigan. Hmm, no bows allowed though. Iron Bru optional.

The Expansive World's stream has been moved to Thursday. I wonder if this means they are going to reveal hints. I hope the next map we get is set in Africa or Asia. It would be cool to be able to hunt spotted hyenas, plains zebras and hippos.

well, another map in europe. was hoping for something exotic but at least they update the older maps with more animals. maybe we will get something big in 2023.
