Blacktail on Layton

Does anyone know what the new hotspot is for Blacktail on Layton? I haven't seen or heard a single one since the new reset.

Wish I could help but blacktails are a giant thorn in my side. Late 2017, the first animal I shot in this game was a blacktail that was three points short of diamond. Five years later and still no diamond and only 1 more gold. For what it's worth, I see quite a few along the western shore of the long lake on the west side of the map, especially in the area south of Willipeg outpost.

Try Balmont lake, got a few drink zones near the wood stand on the north end of the lake.

did they adjust missions accordingly? ive been struggle finding even traces of the target animals in the small ass mission areas.

They used to fix missions by changing target animal, but in last 3 years they haven't bothered.

I've never had anything even remotely close to a diamond. I saw a level 5 medium moose yesterday that looked promising, but my loadout was geared for a mission, so I never had a good shot at pistol range, so I let him go for another day.

I'm actually a new sub to her channel and this was the first video of her's I watched. I've gone to those locations, and all I am finding is moose and whitetail zones. I've currently set up camp in the swamps, but by the time I got there, their drink time was over, so I'll rest and see if I can spot anything.

Honestly, I don't know, I'm nearing the end of the Layton side missions. I haven't had any issues with the region specific missions, but I couldn't tell you about the earlier ones.

I suffered for a long time with a similar situation in Hirschfelden.
"Tressler No. 3", where it is necessary to shoot 3 wild boars on the territory of the lake.
Having walked around the lake 10 times at different times of the day and spent a lot of hours, I realized that there are no wild boars here.

In the end, I arranged a damn safari. I found a herd at a watering hole in the canyon a kilometer from the desired zone, taking a pump-action shotgun, drove them on an ATV to the area I needed. And there I was already jumping off the transport and hitting the fleeing pigs (although I was almost taken on tusks twice, but I completed the quest).

Try this option.

I gave up on that mission as well because this is seems to be the ONLY way it can be completed. It's ridiculous. Of course it is just a side mission but everything about it is just wrong, the whole setup. It CANNOT work out unless you do it exactly this way and it has been like that for years I think. Zone was moved at some point and noone gave a darn about that mission or how you are ever supposed to finish it without forcing the animals to flee to that area. That is great hunting: Scare the animals to near death for a couple of minutes, driving them a kilometre north then jumping of your hell-machine to shoot the exhausted animals point blank. Hunting as it should be...

So concerning the blacktail: You will probably have to do it this way as well. Just push them in the area with all means available and end the mission like that. The devs don't care a lot for the old maps anyway and the broken boar mission on Hirsch has been like that for ages. Nothing done about it.

The mission I was doing wasn't region specific. Just had to harvest a blacktail at night within 30m. I still haven't found a watering zone yet, but i did find a rest and feed zone between Belmont Lake and the Swamps. In that area i'm tripping over them, there are so many.
