How to equip both ammo types for Mangiafico 410/45 Colt
From everything I've read, like the drilling rifle, I should be able to hold down "R" and switch between the 410 birdshot and the 45 round, but I can't even equip both of them on the inventory screen. I can either equip the pistol OR the shotgun ammo, but not both. Is this a bug or just a poor design choice? I feel I should be able to use this the same way as the Drilling Rifle, but that doesn't seem possible in game. The mechanics and UI in this game are clear as mud, and there is basically no tutorial, yet a thousand different systems in place. I don't want to be inconvenienced by having to open up the inventory screen in the middle of a hunt just to switch between ammo types on a dual-compatible handgun. Is there a hotkey that I don't know about? I'm confused and frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks yall.

What do you mean? Do you just mean the inventory screen? Having to manually open up a menu and cliclk & drag new ammo onto the gun each time I want a different one is the inconvenience I was complaining about. It should just be a hotkey. Just drag all the ammo types you want to add to a weapon onto it in the loadout screen once, and then just use a hotkey to switch between them on the fly. That would be a great feature. Are you doing something with the inventory screen that makes that easier? What is that?
Hold middle mouse button to open the radial menu. Hit Q to change ammo, E to switch between sights or scopes.

The Drilling is two weapons in one: rifle and double-barreled shotgun. There is no ammo feed. You simply load all three barrels. Holding R doesn't change any ammo setup, it merely switches which trigger you are going to pull, which barrel to fire.

The Mangiafico is nothing like that. Apart from the ability to use .410 shotgun shells it's a normal revolver. Theoretically you could pre-load it with a mix of .45 and .410 ammo and manually rotate the drum so that the correct ammo is fired, but that sort of behaviour is not implemented in the game. So, you either load it with all .410 or with all .45. No switching by holding R.

Well that's a bummer. Seems like a missed opportunity. Thanks for your help.

Wouldn't it be cool if we got some more interesting older weapons like the LeMat where what you describe is possible.

Nah. instead we get AR's with a hipfire 'sight' so we can go through the woods like some Rambo army commando on a rage.

good stuff. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Yeah I have -200% interest in that DLC. What is the challenge of hunting when you have a rapid fire semiautomatic rifle with a red dot sight? I'm not playing a COD, I'm playing a hunting sim. You don't need something like that for hunting, especially not something chambered in freaking .308. That's absurd.

because the 'hunters' here don't want a challenge. hence that DLC. running through the woods with a semi auto hip fire .308 spraying lead like you are in combat in vietnam or something..

absolutely ridiculous. I enjoy crossbow. I get one shot to hit my target with a slow reload, same with musket my go-to rifle when i use rifle. I want challenge and i want to test my shot placement. Whats the challenge or point as you said of popping off tons of rounds, mowing down herds of animals?

I see so many posts.. 'oh don't take that gun its only 1 shot' take the gun with the bigger clip so you get lots more shots and can take out herds.. ROFL.. people don't want to hunt, they just want to shoot stuff with guns in arcade style .. period.

But i look at the devs too. wont add elephants, tigers, or other 'rare' animals to a GAME because its unethical or illegal IRL to hunt or kill those types of animals.. but apparently its OK to grab your Semi Auto hip fire red dot sight .308 AR and just blast everything that moves in the forest. I actually watched a dev stream when the ARs were being released and the dude using the AR was goose hunting and filling the sky with AR .22 Lead like he was defending from ww2 figher jets. but god forbid we can hunt an elephant or tiger or something.. becasue of IRL 'ethics'.. LMAO..

This is why my eye is on WoTH. i'm hoping the kinks and bugs get fixed quick with that game.. If so its where ill be spending my time going forward as far as 'hunting' games go..

THANK YOU! Finally! This actually helps. It's not as perfect as a hotkey, but this really helps. Thank you!
