Tips for finding diamonds?
Today I just shot my first diamond. It was a mallard I found while I was chasing after a black tail herd. Is there a way to increase the chances of getting diamonds or is it always based on chance?

First of all, congratulation for your diamond bro! Basically finding diamond is all about luck. But take care of your reserve, finding many need zone and big herd may can help you. I've heard somewhere that kill high level makes high level respawn. If you take the animals that has just below diamond level like 8(Mythical) or 4(Easy), that will proooooooooobably respawn to 9 or 5 level one. But I'm not sure. I've never met diamond one like that way. I've kill tons of Mythical red deer at one need zone every day but they always came back as Mythical one again. But you know, there are at least one diamond for each animal in your map. Keep going your hard work than that may work.

+ I think Blackbuck, Wildebeest, Kudu and Gensbok is easiest animals for diamond cause they have some level 4 diamond. Those with level 4 and maximum weight/trophy interval can be 950 diamond. Others are never be diamond with level 4 or 8 I know.

They are rare, so you need to move around to find one.

+1 on getting your first diamond:steamhappy: I don't believe anyone knows how the spawns work (as it should be) but I have never had any luck with killing a 4 and that turning to a 5 and 8 into 9. I know Flinter was trying this for ages but even he has now admitted he still has no idea how it works. If what you say is correct about 1 of each animal being a diamond (which I have no idea) It wouldn't make sense to me killing high level animals spawning higher level animals. I have killed loads of 4 and 8 animals but only have 21 or 22 diamonds after 700+ hrs. I know there was a thread about diamonds recently and some don't even have that with more/similar hours.

IMO diamonds are pure luck and having zones or killing x number of animals has no affect on spawning more diamonds on your map. I suspect there are x amount of diamonds on the maps and until those are killed maybe more simply wont spawn. If there was a secret to getting diamonds they would be like killing every other animal in game.

IMO just hunt loads of different areas on your maps and if finding diamonds is that important to someone they can always try multiplayer to see if they have more luck. I believe there are spots that the bigger animals use (going off youtube) but even those don't mean a diamond will be there on your map. Of course this is all just my opinion but if someone knew how to get more diamonds to spawn and posted about it I think the devs would soon change it.
I think I heard something about each map having a diamond of each animal off the start. I have a theory that the animals score increases based on how much you hunt that particular animal. I don't really have any evidence to back this up, I just noticed the animals I don't hunt very often like musk deer, boar, or moose are all low scoring herds, but the animals I frequently hunt like axis or caribou are usually have multiple 4s in the herd. That's all probably just a coincidence though.

Oh yea I dont believe the 'Respawn law' like I said but you know, hope is open for everyone so I'm just trying it XD. And getting more need zone totally doesent effect diamond spawn possibility. No one knows about it. What i'm talk about is if you find many zones and herd, that means you can catch where are 'No diamond zone Now'. The more herds or zones you know that are low levels, you can except that area when finding diamond. But that is too, all about luck because diamond one can get there someday. So there all saying about diamonds are just theory. I believe all thing is luck and it should be. It's just an my own strategy, not proven anything. My words are so short cause I'm not at english user so maybe my own meaning can't fully reach you, I'm sorry bro.

Lol did you see the stream where Flinter had 7 diamonds in a 2 hour stream? It was Parque so the easiest map for diamonds but still 7 in that time and over 250 now I think :(
Make sure you ensure your Integrity, quick kill and consecutive harvest's are at 100%
before you attempt to harvest a thought to be Diamond.
If one fails that... then it may be delegated as a Gold instead. : (

Consecutive harvest and integrity are bonuses you need to be aware while hunting for Diamond before you even start tracking. Quick Kill bonus depends on how well you aimed when taking a shot.

What I'm saying is you need all three to be at 100% if one hopes to net a Diamond.
Otherwise it could become downgraded to a gold.

At least that's my experience after nearly 6000 hrs playing this game.

I have yet to kill a diamond. I have observed that players have the skill points to tell the approximate trophy rating on spotting with rangefinder, so they just look at each animal to see if it could be diamond and they go for that one. So hard to do if you don't have those points.

You can spot Diamond without any skills, just look for LEVEL (like 1-Trivial, 2-Easy, etc) which is visible from the beginning. Diamond always belong to highest level for specific species, which is depending on species either 3 or 5 or 9.

The most useful tracking skill is the one showing weight range. Diamond belong to the highest weight range so it is useful to see weight and determine whether it is worth tracking

My suggestion is to be patient and make sure you looked at all animals in the herd. high level animals tend to be the last to come closer if you are calling, and usually are more isolated from the group too.. So if you shoot the first big male you see, chances are you spooked the Diamond potential in the back.

The tracking and spotting skills that show weight will tell you if you have a diamond because the animal always weighs the lowest weight on the track or spot. So you can track anything that's not a truracs animal and be sure to get a diamond. If it has truracs, it's still a pretty good chance that it's a diamond if it weighs at least a certain amount. That amount depends on the species. There's a table to show you diamond weight thresholds if you google it.
