What is the best rifle in the game for all round hunting?
Basically ive been using the 243 for awhile now hunting mainly Doe, fallow deer i have saved up around 72,000 in-game currency not sure what rifle i could buy. I tend to try and focus on the deer kills at the moment, but im also looking for something which can pack a punch to bring down bigger game with well played shots.
I currently have 4316 rifle score, only rifles i dont have available are the
.300 canning magnum
. 300 canning magnum
Rangemaster 338

Not really found anything that is answering my question, hoping experienced members playing can lend a hand.
thank you :D

DLC Drilling
( not having integrity 100% all classes in long range)

or

DLC Solokhin Mosin 7.62
(Having integrity from class 2 upwards)
Big animals are a bit harder to kill.... maybe good in combination with bow and 600 from arrows or a Rhino pistol

(Both are in weapon pack 2 DLC )
But I am a bit new to the game .... lvl 29.

So maybe some veterans can help you some better.

My weapons ; at the moment:

Solokhin Mosin (all round)
Rhino (big game)
Vibrant 22LR (for class 0 &1)

—————————————

But as mentioned above .. nice combo :

Solokhin Mosin ( all round)
Drilling ( big game long and short range and with shot gun part of weapon you also can use ammunition for low class 0 on short range )

You gotta aim good with Mosin MH 7.62
And often it is not a kill on point because it only goes through one lung from long distance on huge animals.

So better wait for some further opinions before buying

The best all around rifle I've used has been the MH 7.62 mm. With that I can reliably harvest Blacktail, Whitetail, Roe, Fallow, BlackBuck, Axis, Any pig, Springbok, Coyotes and Jackals with one shot to the lungs at 150m or less from pretty much any angle AND get 100% of the QK bonus. It does not consistently penetrate deeply enough at that range to consistently drop Wildebeast, Reindeer, Elk, Caribou, Red Deer or anything larger with one shot to the same area and still yield 100% of the QK bonus. For those larger animals I go with the 7mm or the .300 (for Brown bear and Grizzly, Moose, Gemsbok, Lions, Elk and all Buffs/Bison). I like the .338 but when I go for a double lung on a Gemsbok at 150m it might drop soon enough to still get 100% of the QK bonus. Using the .300 they usually do.

Mosin for 2 tier, 7MM for 3~4 tier. Drilling is also nice cause it's almost same with 7MM but I just prefer 7MM

Hard to tell. All weapons have their pro's and contra's.
For bigger animals, I like the 7mm best for precision and range.
For smaller deer. .270 and .243 are awesome weapons as well, but the Mosin offers a bit more versatility.

Thank you everyone! Recently brought the weapon pack and im using the Mosin currently. Not took much down with it simply because i love the handgun that comes in the pack lol.

The Mosin never leaves my possession. The rest is whatever I'm in the mood to carry. Currently I'm having a lot of fun with 16ga slugs in the Drilling.

The 45/70 is your best friend. The bullets are cheap.

It really depends on how deep you get into the play. Without getting into the mechanics of the game or shooting diamonds. Ill say: generally its important to use the right tier ammo for the game you are hunting. You can find the tier of an animal in the codex. Ideally you strive for 100% integrity on your kill sheet. Now some good advice (When the time comes) skip the redot pistol sight and go straight for the scope.

Good advice if they were asking for pistols instead of posting about rifles.
