Dolby Atmos
How does the new dolby atmos feature work? I see there is an option to enable or disable Dolby Atmos in the Audio settings in game. But i dont hear anything different. Does anyone know how to use this feature?

Oh i see so if you just use headphone like everyone who plays games, you have to purchase their special atmos app.. Ok so a bit pointless.. I use the sennheiser Epos external usb sound card anyway which is probably the same sort of thing....

Yes, is you already have a 5.1 or 7.1 sound, you will not see any difference

Why don't you hear a difference? I don't understand.. either it's atmos or 7.1 or 5.1..
If I run my sound through a receiver with a 7.1.2 then you have to hear a difference unless the game doesn't have a decent Atmos soundtrack

Connect that receiver to your sound card and see if you can hear a difference.
Don't know your receiver or what sound card you are using, but with most it's possible.
Just read the manual for each, if you don't understand how. Pretty simple though.

btw, I play games and don't even own a set of headphones. Everyone? lol

You don't have to laugh stupidly, the truth is there is no Dolby Atmos

There's no excuse, they support the Xbox console with Dolby Atmos like on a PC, It's definitely not the HDMI cable, the HDMI cable is defenetively 8K and Dolby Atmos capable if someone comes along with the cheap solution.
They advertise Dolby Atmos and only deliver PCM and this becomes cheaper Dolby Surround but no Atmos.

No HDMI in port(s) on the receiver?
I find that hard to believe in 2023.

Prior to making claims about something not having dolby atmos.
You first need to make sure your hardware is properly set up for it,
as well as having the audio driver for it installed on your system.

Atmos on PC has been problematic for many since it's release.
Old info 5+ years;
But one of the solutions for Nvidia was to replace the Nvidia audio driver with the driver from Microsoft. AMD had similar problems as well. Fix may still be the same in 2023?

Biggest question comes into play, is atmos really even all that important to you?
As most don't even realize atmos is only meta data (information about the sound)

it should mean that...
It's definitely not the HDMI cable

and my hardware is fine for atmos and yes I know what atmos is. Don't keep coming to me with PC or computer, it's about the console game on xbox..

You are in PC forums here though, so the consoles are a bit off topic!
Try the console forums, as here you will get info about PC's.

Report this on discord, Steam is pretty much dead and you won't get an official reply here.
Also make sure you report this as a bug, but do not just link to a website that has a discussion about. Instead, describe the bug as best as you can and make sure the link is optional. Or you can use their website to report it, which is even better.

We are aware that the game does not decode and play Dolby Atmos audio as intended, and our team is actively investigating this issue. All we can do is assure you that we are working on a fix in one of the upcoming releases.
For news, please follow our webpage - theHunter: Call of the Wild

I hope that you can continue to enjoy what theHunter has to offer in the meantime. In case of any other issues, remember, we are just a message away.

Best regards,
