DLC weapon setting
Hi!
This is a bump towards the devs to potentially add some type of option, possibly one you can enable when you start a new game or something, that gives DLC guns a purchase price.

I find myself wanting to use the DLC guns (Duh, that's why i bought them) But as it is right now, there is no progress or difficulty in the game at all besides being lucky aka finding a diamond animal etc. Why? Because the weapons you get from DLCs simply make buying weapons redundant, you already get all different calibers for free. When the game first came out, the top tier guns was amazing once I first could afford it/them. Now its more of a... "Why would I ever buy that? The one I get for free is better."

Not asking for the devs to ruin the game for the ones with the "I don't want to grind in the game, I just want to hunt with the rifle I bought." Cause I get that. I just want the option to do so for those, including me, who want to have more of a goal with hunting.

All the gun that came with a map are locked, only those weapon dlc without map are immediately available.

I see. Sorry for my bad English. This would be a nice feature for those who want a more challenging unlocks.

You are touching on something that's been bugging me with the weapons for quite some time. When the game first came out there was a clear game progression with the weapons. You had to rank up to unlock the powerful weapons, which limited what animals you could hunt until you ranked up enough. But as new weapons and dlc were added that game mechanic doesn't work anymore and we're left with weapons that just fit into a group. Take all the rifles that are class 4 to 8, there's tons. and the stats seem almost the same for some of them.

I've been hoping the dev's make a gunsmith dlc were we can make our own weapons. So for instance you choose the calibre/ammo type, then the mechanism of the weapon. Break action. magazine fed, bolt action or semi auto. For bolt rifles maybe have different options, Barrel length, round or octave. Type of iron sights or none at all. Material of stock. And the weight should also be effected by the stock materials. Wood is heavier then plastic or polymer. And be able to customise the scopes a bit. I use the Sundberg handgun a lot and i really want to add a little horizontal line to the scope site where the 200m mark would be.

There are only a couple of gun that I'm really happy with. I'd really like to make my own at this point. Take the 7mm ammo and put it into a semi auto system like the Zarza, and customise the scope with range lines to match the bullet drop.

Exactly! Before I had to practice with rifles to up that glorious rifle score. That means nothing anymore. And to reach the level where "Oh NICE! Now I can finally safely go after bears or bison!" just doesnt exist anymore. All "weapon classes" at all tiers are availible for free from the start. And it seems like such an easy feature to add, or rather, I know it is. Would just be nice to have it in the game as an official feature.

*Sigh*
I miss when there was actuall progress in this game, instead of just a hunting sandbox.
Hopefully the devs listen! :lunar2019piginablanket: ^^

I like working toward a new gun. The best part of the game was the early game, unlocking and trying new gear. Once you max out there's only the missions and even they are dying out.

I'm actually on the other side of the fence . When I purchase a weapon DLC , I like to actually use it immediately , not have to spend time " unlocking " something I've purchased . I recall playing theHunter classic ( before it was on Steam , and single guns required using real money to purchase ) , and I really looked forward to trying out my new purchase .

( P.s imagine going to a real life gunsmith , to purchase your new hunting rifle , only to be told , after paying for the new rifle , that you had to walk around the forest for a few hours , and hunt some more animals with your old rifle , before you could use your new rifle ....... ?? . And before someone jumps in with the .. but ...but ...this isn't real life .... . We're trying to simulate real hunting , are we not ? )

Oh certainly I'm with you 100%. :lunar2019piginablanket: That's why my "petition" is for the option to have them in the "progress tree" if you want too, or keep them free if you just want to sign on and "sandbox hunt" and not worry about having to level up rifles etc.
