Hunting Goldeneyes in Revontuli is absolutely busted

~1k per animal, which come in packs at a time and require no caller. They IGNORE hunting pressure.

You can literally set a tent + blind (or tripod) + 20 decoys, wait for a couple to come, and kill. Wait again a minute or two, and kill again. About 3-5 kills per attempt, you can do about 3 attempts before a flock is done for.

One flock just easily gives you ~10k gold, easy shotgun or handgun score as well as general level xp, and you can just reset/refresh by travelling to another camp you had set up, or just restart the game.

It's unbelievably easy and AFK to setup and maintain, never exhausts, and on top of that, crazy money + XP.

I haven't shoot a duck in Layton since last Dec, Since the recent upgrade I havent even seen one, Geese I find will walk to my decoys instead of flying, wierd. The geese dont land as often but i do get one once in a while, almost too far for shotguns though

The new map, Revontuli Coast, is pretty much centric around bird-hunting. There's (I think?) 13 different bird species to hunt, of which 2 do NOT need to be lured down with a caller (Goldeneyes, and Eurasian Widgeon). The prior is an EXTREMELY good moneymaker, giving easy 1k per kill.

Before the Canada Geese and Ducks, were busted, the easiest way to make cash and get xp, was from hunting them.

I'd got 4 or 5 set ups in Hirsch and you could just keep going from one to the next.

Great fun and great money and xp, plus easily max your shotgun skill and gain levels while doing it, unlocking callers and weapons in the process :)

Works great for other weapons, too. I took my pistol score from 0 to enough to buy the .454 in just a couple hours.

Yes mate, I did the same with birdshot shells with the colt, before they changed it to improving your shotgun skill.

Luckily, I had the whole handgun tree unlocked before that, lol :)

I've also noticed that, like the other reserves, I find myself taking far more birds with the .22lr rather than shotgun. No need to carry around all those decoys.
