Steel Birdshot
What's the deal with the steel birdshot? I've been busy with prepping for real life hunting and I haven't been keeping up with the stream or forum, sorry. Can anyone enlighten me? I didn't even realize that steel shot was in the game(I already had plenty of 20g rounds, so I didn't buy any). It doesn't seem to matter for integrity. I was using the old 20g bird shot with the new gun and took out all 4 in the flock I saw. No problem with integrity.

If integrity doesn't matter... what's the pattern / penetration difference? ... and when are we getting steel shot for the 12g?

Seems to me, since the wild is damaged by the lead in traditional birdshot in these swampy areas that integrity should be reduced when using lead?

Anyone on top of the changes? Please fill me in. Thanks in advance!

I agree, they should reduce integrity if you don’t use steel shot. I think they should also include shotgun plugs and if you don’t use them you lose integrity.

I think you both have misunderstood the integrity bonus here. Its not wether you are hunting "ethically" or not, but wether there's anything left to collect from the animal when youre done with it. See it as more of a... trophy/meat damage score.

But yeah, havent noticed much difference myself.

I've been wondering that myself. What's the difference between steel birdshot and standard birdshot?

Steel shot is legal for migratory bird hunting throughout the U.S, Lead shot is not. Makes sense that it would be included in a game where the devs are sensitive to animal rights goups opinions.

Integrity is based upon what's left of the animal after you fill it with lead? If that were true then close shots with birdshot would incur an integrity penalty due to the number of pellets that hit the makr.

Which is exactly what happens in the game. Shooting a bunny up-close with 12gauge birdshot will result in reduced integrity due to the higher number of pellets that hit.
