Calburn Canyon - Harvest 2 Elks from a ground blind - (Conners 7) -

I have been trying for weeks with no sign of anything except Coyotes. I did try up in far right of the area at the edge of the lake in Norden - the only place to find the elusive animals but they just would not move the few meters into the Canyon zone. Can anyone help??

your after Elks only ? Elks are best found at very late afternoon into the evening, get good numbers more at early evening than day time so far , with little effort , Layton lakes lower to mid area i found best with forest nearer the lakes, I dont both with a blind either restricts your sight and aim , use a bow or cross bow for more kills they come back ,but rifle they go dont return ,i get them with in 10 m easy for quick kill but can get a kill out to 60 m easy enough. just to give you a quicker set up try from the rope bridge down on the rope bride side , use tents set up an do some recon, its not hard just use your rest time in the tents to your advantage , i used about 3 or 4 tens to go between when i was doing it , now its easy as ,

The player is after Elk in Calburn Canyon not Elk in general but thanks for the tips on where to find them in other places. I've been having a little trouble with that of late.

Yatesie2 - thanks for your reply but as above it is Conners 7 - mission I'm trying to complete. Harvest 2 Elks from a ground blind in Calburn Canyon.

I completed this mission using stationary ground blind, but you can also use mobile one if you have tents and blinds DLC

Use elk caller and elk scent to lure them. Elks should be around, it just might take some time for them to get closer

Rookie-31st - thanks for reply - I have tried tents by stationary and mobile blinds but there just no Elks in the area- have been trying dailey for over 2 weeks!!! Calling, sents etc don't seem to make any difference. Frustrating!!

I understand frustration, this happens with many limited area missions unfortunately. Hunt somewhere else for few in-game days, especially try taking out some elks at least few kilometers away from mission area. This will force re-spawning additional elks hopefully closer to mission area

There is a Elk NeedZone northwest of the the right side canyon. Active between 0030 and 0530 grids are 11712.000 4336.000, I was standing at the viewtower and about 5 bull elk ran past me at 0300. I chased them to the hunting stand and then called them in. I killed three from the raised stand.
